My golden retriever sheds like a beast. I used to take her for a deshedding bath at PetSmart but I got tired of making appointments, driving her there, paying them to do it, picking her up etc. So I bought a bottle myself one day.

Definitely cuts down on the random fur everywhere, and purchasing it by the gallon saves a couple of dollars over just buying those regular sized bottles they sell at pet stores. Used with a defurminator brush and we definitely noticed a decrease in rolling tumbleweeds of fur in the house.

I am a nutritionist and am very picky about my ingredients, & there is nothing in here that bothers or concerns me about my pets longevity & safety. The smell is great as well as the effectiveness.
Excellent for light colored animals (makes their coat incredibly bright, clean & SOFT)
I have two white cats, a white horse & a golden/blonde dog & it has made an exceptional difference in the look, feel & health of thier coats. The omega 3-6 fatty acids are very important for skin health & the papaya is a natural enzyme that will assist in cleaning the fur, without the use of chemicals, I could go on...but you see my point.

Use it in conjunction with the conditioner and the brush for the best results. 6-10 minutes of shampoo, 6-10 minutes of conditioner, 30 minutes of post-shower brushing, and you will have the slickest, softest dog with a noticeable decrease in shedding and fur flying around your house. It really works.

I have been using this shampoo on our dogs for some time. It is a GREAT shampoo. Just bought it in the gallon size. Be aware that the dog (or cat I suppose) will shed after the bath so you do want to brush him or her, and we remove enough clumps of hair to make a pillow right after bathing. But it significantly reduced the shedding overall. It is also recommended to leave the shampoo on for 5-10 minutes for best results. It smells like a pina-colada and our dog smells like that for several days after. The conditioner is great as well, but smells different. It has no parabens, or dyes and it is made in the US.

To my great surprise - skeptic that I am - this actually worked, and worked wonderfully. After just one bath, we went from seeing wads of fur everywhere to barely seeing any fur anywhere. A gallon that gets diluted 1:10 will likely last us close to forever and well worth the price.

I have two German Shedders living in my house. I have washed them now three times with this shampoo. Before and after each washing, I brush them as best I can with the Furminator brush. My observation thus far is that there is maybe 15% less hair floating around for me and my poor, overworked vacuum to pick up. I have read that this shampoo needs to be used regularly and often to work, so I'll keep at it. In the meantime, I'm giving it four stars because it smells amazing, seems to lather up real good and get the beasts squeaky clean, and it's a pretty purple color. If I happen to (after a few more washes) notice the population of stray hairs randomly floating around my house reduces significantly, I will update my review.

I have 2 pugs, both are about 20lbs and shed like crazy all year round. Its been driving us nuts, and brushing them weekly with the furminator was time consuming and harsh on their skin (maybe I was a little too maniacal about getting every strand of fur.) Enter the deshedding shampoo... It smells like coconuts, which is nice and my hands feel softer after giving the dogs a bath. It definitely takes the fur off. After the bath, and even after they've dried, I don't notice any fur coming off of them. But then 2 days later it seems the cycle starts all over and by the next bath (week and a 1/2) they're shedding everywhere. So I would say it definitely works at taking the fur off during the bath, but it hasn't prevented shedding on the pugs. It may work on longer haired dogs better, but since the pugs are so short haired, I think I'd have to wash them everyday to keep up with their fur growth/shed cycle. But still, 2 days without shedding is still nice and I'll stick with this shampoo.

The Furminator shampoo (especially used with Furminator rinse) does an excellent job of reducing shedding. We have 3 dogs and one of them used to leave clumps of fur on the carpet. After using the Furminator shampoo and rinse system we could go for weeks without even brushing her and see little dog hair around the house. It is amazing and highly reccomended.
