The 1600-watt iron adapts for vertical use on curtains and long, hanging garments. The iron's translucent water reserve holds 8-1/2 ounces of water for conversion into steam bursts, mists and other steam patterns.
The steam iron features a polished stainless-steel soleplate that provides even heat to fabrics. Channeled steam holes along the soleplate ensure smooth movement. Steam holes in the soleplate's profile tip assist in ironing around buttons and in pleats. A soft covered handle resists slipping with ergonomic comfort. A special indicator monitors the tap water levels in the iron's anti-drip tank. After use, the iron cleans itself by flushing out any mineral or impure deposits collected through the ironing process, preventing calc build-up. For home safety, Rowenta designed the steam iron with three different automatic shutoff functions. The steam iron shuts down after 30 seconds resting horizontally, or if knocked over.
