Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

If you're plagued by back pain or suffer from stress overload, consider the Teeter Hang Ups F9000 inversion table, which helps to counter the effects of too much time spent sitting, standing or moving repetitively. It's also a great way to add extra crunch to exercises like sit-ups. The Teeter Hang Ups F9000 rotates on a pivot system. With simple arm movements (rotation is accomplished by shifting the weight of the arms), the table easily rotates to any comfortable angle. The smooth rotation allows for oscillation and intermittent traction. Adjustable roller hinges allow you to pre-select three levels to control the aggressiveness of rotation, and the tether strap allows you to pre-select the maximum angle of inversion.

Comfortable ankle clamps hold you securely while inverting. Corner feet increase the A-frame base by 20 percent, reduce sliding on hard surfaces and protect floors. An easy-to-reach ratchet handle opens and closes with the push of a button, eliminating the need to reach to the ankles to secure the foot clamps.

It's able to lock at full 90 degrees inversion (this is only possible when using the more aggressive roller hinge setting). While at 90 degrees, you can perform inverted sit-ups and squats. The table is self-controlled and can be unlocked with simple arm movements.

Feature Detail:

  • Removable, washable nylon mat with triple-stitched seams removes easily for cleaning
  • Teflon embedded epoxy-coated roller hinges for guaranteed smooth rotation with no squeaks for the life of the table; patented cam locks ensure proper assembly
  • Durable, injection-coated rubber hand grips feature an embossed guide to the angles of inversion
  • Adjustable tether strap allows you to preset the tether strap for worry-free inversion to any angle
  • Heat treated high quality carbon steel used in key structural components for increased strength and durability
  • Curved foam ankle clamps offer a unique design that allows for greater comfort and security while inverted
  • Self-locking hinges secure the table bed to the A-frame for improved security and portability
  • De-rattler knob reduces shaft movement to allow for quiet, shift-free rotation--the only design on the market to structurally engage the main shaft
  • Triple-plated chrome main shaft with steel wall thickness at least 20 percent greater than any main shaft on the market. Features embossed height markers in both inches and centimeters for easy adjustment
  • Height capacity: 4'8" to 6'6"
  • Weight capacity: 300 pounds
  • Assembled dimensions: 45 x 28 x 58 inches
  • Folded dimensions: 66 x 28 x 14 inches

The F9000 Inversion Table folds compactly for storage in a closet or in a corner. The nylon mat can be removed for washing. Every table comes with an instructional DVD and laminated owner's manual.

About Inversion Tables
Back pain is an uncomfortable and cumbersome ailment for millions of people. It can strike repeatedly and without warning, nearly paralyzing its victims with pain and discomfort. Inversion therapy is an excellent way to prevent and treat chronic or recurring back pain. This form of therapy treats back pain by hanging a person upside-down by their ankles. The only problem with this therapy is a risk of spinal injury because of the procedure's lack of support. Fortunately, inversion tables remove this risk.

A person can lie on an inversion table, and then gradually turn themselves upside down, always fully supported by their ankles. With precise balance, simple arm movements control the rotation of the inversion table. Special tether straps or locking hinges allow users to stop a rotation at just the right angle in order to stretch a specific place in their back. This technique has proven effective for relieving spine compression, elongating the spine, and reversing minor spinal dislocations. Of course, this treatment is not for everyone. People with glaucoma, very high blood pressure, bone disorders, or a history of severe spinal injury or surgery should be careful and check with a physician before administering inversion therapy. However, with a bit of practice and caution, inversion tables can be your ticket to a pain-free and healthier back.

About Teeter Hang Ups
Roger and Jennifer Teeter founded Hang Ups Inversion Products in 1981 and have been dedicated to manufacturing quality inversion products ever since. Roger and Jenny truly believe in the benefits of this simple, natural form of therapy that has been around since 400 BC. In the late 1970’s, Roger tried many forms of therapy to help manage his pain. He finally discovered that by inverting, he was able to relieve his back pain and begin the road to recovery. He credits inversion for keeping him pain free, healthy, and active. Inversion has changed Roger's life, and now he is dedicated to sharing his knowledge of inversion and quality products.

STL International, creator of Teeter Hang Ups brand inversion equipment, has pioneered standards for quality and performance in the inversion market. All Teeter Hang Ups F-series inversion tables are classified in accordance with UL 2601-1 (medical equipment in a clinical setting), a rigid specification that tests the structural integrity of the equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing back health, August 31, 2006
By Nicole "Health happy" (Northern Minnesota) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Teeter Hang Ups F9000 Inversion Table (Sports)
This is truely an amazing piece of equipment for back and body health. I suffered from a herniated disc while I was pregnant, and had some difficulty "taking it easy" on my back post-partum as I have little children at home to take care of. After spending many hours and $ with a chiropractor, I realized that traction is a very healing process for keeping the spine in alignment and the disc properly hydrated. Everything you read about for the positive healing aspects of inversion are true. I had the opportunity to use the Teeter Hang Ups with the ankle release for a while, and I must say I am extremely pleased with the F9000. Although the quality of the both the ankle release table and the rachet system is the same, the F9000 is worth the extra expense. The ankle release is harder to release because it requires a stronger pull from the handle. Plus, you have to reach all the way to the ankles after a good inversion stretch. For anyone needing inversion because of stress or injury to the back, I just don't recommend bending to the ankles. The ankle release requires two movements - one hand is needed to pull the ankle handle release, and the other hand is needed to lift the piece away enough to get your feet out. The rachet system is completely different. The rachet system is a push button that releases the hold on the ankles, and with the same hand, you simply move it away from you. Not only do you not have to bend all the way to your ankles (just to the knees), it is also a simple, easy release. I wondered if I wanted to spend the extra money for a rachet system, but now that I tried both, I have no doubt the extra expense was more than well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to assemble, easy to use, great for your back, January 24, 2007
This review is from: Teeter Hang Ups F9000 Inversion Table (Sports)
I couldn't be happier with this table. I hemmed and hawed for over a year as I researched all of the different tables. While I debated over spending the money on an inversion table, my back continued to worsen. It finally occurred to me that for what I was spending on my chiropractor to perform traction on my back (I have a herniated disk), I could probably buy a few of these tables. Now that I have it, I'm thrilled. Others here have written great, in-depth reviews and I don't need to repeat what they've said. I just want to say to anyone debating the merits of getting an inversion table - just go ahead and do it.

------
One year later...

After nearly a year of using my inversion table I had to come back to rave a bit more about it. I was headed for surgery before and was miserable. As soon as I began using my table I began to improve and have been great ever since. I work from home, so it's very convenient for me to invert whenever I need to. If my back begins to bother me I'll go hang upside down for a few minutes and it immediately relieves the pressure on my disk.

If you've got a herniated disk and have found that traction eases your pain, you should buy this table now.

5.0 out of 5 stars F9000 review, March 23, 2007
By Leslie S. Ford (Davison, MI United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Teeter Hang Ups F9000 Inversion Table (Sports)
Very well constructed. The ratchet release ankle feature is well worth the extra money and feels very secure. I did notice in the exercise booklet that comes with this unit (which was written for all types of inversion & not necessarily for this product) that an inversion chair is recommended for lower back pain as opposed to an inversion table. For myself I am thinking I should have bought an inversion chair, because as a two time back laminectomy surgery patient (L-4 & L-5)laying flat on my back causes discomfort and, I have experienced slight discomfort using this product when returning to the upright position to dismount. I have experienced professional physical therapy traction while on laying my back with my thighs pointed up 90 degrees and my calves resting on a stool parallel with the table and the traction pulling from my hips. I always felt great after those treatments, but I don't feel that using the table. In all the research I did prior to purchasing the inversion table I unfortunately found nothing that clearly recommended the inversion chair for persons with lower back pain. I do have a gripe about the delivery of this product. It came in two large boxes, one each about a week apart and someone has to be there to sign for it. That was a scheduling problem for us and would have rathered they came at the same time. This is a high quality product, but for my lower back ailments I think I should have purchased a inversion chair instead.
