Compound Feature for Precise Miters and Bevels
Hitachi designed the C12LDH for versatile, easy use. The thumb-actuated positive miter stops for simple miter adjustments at the most common angles between zero and 52 degrees to the left and right. This design allows you to easily change the angle of the cutting blade for creating miters in crown molding and other trim pieces.

The bevel scale ranges from zero to 48 degrees to the left and right, allowing your material to stay in place while you flip the saw head to make opposing cuts, and the saw head bevels to the right or left, also allowing the material to stay securely in place for cutting efficiency. After your major bevel angle is secured, a micro-bevel adjustment knob can be used to dial in a precise angle without the weight of the saw head compromising accuracy.

The 12-inch TCT saw blade (included) makes easy work of delicate trim and other woodwork, and the tall, pivoting aluminum fence stands at a height of 5-1/8 inches to allow for accurate vertical cutting of crown molding and cutting of large workpieces up to 2-5/16 inches high and 5-21/32 inches deep.

Laser Marker Technology and LCD for Perfect Cuts
Hitachi equipped the C12LDH with its exclusive Laser Marker System, which can be activated before the blade is in motion for exact alignment and predictable blade placement. The laser marker is easily adjustable to the left or right of the cut mark to suit your preferences, simply line up the laser with your mark on the workpiece, and the saw blade will make an exact cut along the laser guide. As long as your measurements are right, your cuts will be, too!

The C12LDH also includes an innovative LCD (liquid crystal display) that takes the guesswork out of miter and bevel readings and saves time by eliminating costly mistakes. This digital display includes a backlight for clear readings in bright or dim conditions, and it is impact resistant, so it will withstand accidental bumps.

With its revolutionary, digital LCD digital scale and laser it takes all of the guess work out of miter and bevel cuts. This saw bevels right and left 0-48-degrees and miters 0-52-degrees right and left as well. The capacity allows you to cut an 8-inch board on a crosscut or miter a 6-inch board at 45-degrees. The C12LDH is powered by a belt driven 15 amp motor with a no-load rpm speed of 4,000. It has positive miter stops at 0-, 15-, 22.5-, 31.6- and 45-degrees. I did some considerable research on the Hitachi miter saws and decided on this one. When I received the saw, I opened the box and it appeared as though this saw was used before, the packaging was horrible and one of the sub-fences was snapped off. I called Amazon and they overnighted a replacemend saw. Upon opening the second saw, the packaging wasn't much better, but atleast this saw didn't appear to be used. When I pulled it out of the box, I noticed the same sub-fence was broken just like the first saw?? I called Hitachi and got the run around until I asked to speak with a manager and I was informed that she had received several complaint calls regarding broken sub-fences that week. The problem comes down to the cardboard packaging that Hitachi uses to secure the saw in the box. Hitachi needs to upgrade their packaging. The saw's are made and packaged in China, I'm sure the box gets bounced around quite a bit. The sub-fence that is broken is on back order from Hitachi, so what does this tell you, obviously, this sub-fence must be a hot item. Anyways, Hitachi has ordered me the sub-fence at zero cost for the sub-fence, though I probably won't get it until end of December. Oh, the 32 tooth saw blade that came with the saw is junk, one of the carbide tips was broken off. I bought the Hitachi 90 tooth blade and it cuts like a hot knife through butter. I have used the saw to cut some large crown molding and it seems to work well, the digital miter and bevel display is pretty cool. Amazon took care of all the return shipping of the first saw, so five stars for Amazon.

Great miter saw; I found that it was dead on accurate out of the box except for the B side Sub Fence as it was bent/warped. I contacted Hitachi through email on there site and the next day they had responded and said they were shipping a replacement fence. I got the fence 4 days latter and the saw is great now.

I'm not a contractor just a very avid DIY guy, I hate paying people of work I can do myself. So this saw works great for me. Here are my Pros/Cons of this saw:

Pros:
1) Very Powerful and easy to use
2) Accurate out of the box
3) Digital Miter/Bevel display is great and takes the guess work out of cuts especially the bevel.
4) Very solid built and high quality
5) Great packaging for shipping no damage
6) Laser comes in without having to start the blade
7) Great customer Service from Hitachi

Cons:
1) Bent/warped Sub Fence on delivery (resolved by Hitachi)
2) Laser hard to see in any sun lights
3) Laser blocked when you bring the blade down
4) LOUD (belt drive sound)
5) Wrench clip does not hold wrench in place, falls off a lot
6) Hard to change out blades, need to have 3 hands

That's about it. This is a great saw and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the bent/warp sub fence.

Mitre saw performance has been great! Really like the digital display for mitre and bevel settings. Only issue when I received the saw is that 'sub-fence B' assembly was broken, but Hitachi customer service very helpful and expedient in replacement. 2 items could be improved - dust collection is pretty poor and would be great if brake could be applied to blade when trigger released.
