My background: ASE Master Certified Technician w/ L1 and X1 certifications. Previously Lexus Senior Certifed, Toyota MDT Certifed, Nissan Certified and GM Certifed. Now in an Electronics and Instrumentation field but a die-hard fan of this stuff.

What can I say it's the best stuff on the market. Was introduced to it while I worked at Toyota and Lexus dealerships and since then I have continued to implement it no matter what the manufacturer of car I'm working on (or own for that matter).

I've long since switched fields but have used it in industrial applications since. Don't bother with any of the other brands "Ultra-Black" products or any claims that its the same product - it is not.

A curing time of 3-5 minutes before torquing is all it takes. I've seen technicians add fluid 5-15 minutes after gasket install with no problems (leaks) using this product. As for myself I like to let it sit for about an hour before I add any fluid that will come into contact with this product. For the absolute best seal allow vehicle to sit overnight and you will have a seal that will outlast the engine. Another nice trick is that this product can be used with paper gaskets, OEM metal gaskets: (we implemented this technique all the time at the dealership with zero comebacks), and Asian valve cover gaskets (the factory repair manuals call for it on some OHC setups with a rubber gasket ex: camshaft plug, corners where the rubber gasket rides around the camshaft bearing caps). Concerning the paper gaskets here's the trick: squeeze just a pea sized amount onto your index finger and using a small amount of pressure smear the sealant across a section of the gasket. What you are looking for is a paper thin, uniform thickness.

The best gasket maker I have used. It gives you just enough time to install parts before loosing stickiness. Make sure to follow instructions on the package and clean the surface thoroughly before application including removal of grease. Works for oil pans and valve covers.

Make not to leave the tube open after using.

This stuff works great! No oil leaks. Sticky as you can imagine and cures fast, so do some test runs on how quick you can put the item together that your going to use it on. Make sure everything is super clean and absolutely no oil residue. Start cleaning the heavy stuff with break cleaner fluid and finish with rubbing alcohol because it is the only thing that will not leave a residue.

FIPG is a must for many things - and also comes in handy if you don't have an original gasket for whatever it is you are doing. Don't use other "just as good" things, because "just as good" they are not. They may be close, and they may be even close enough, but this thing beats them all.

I used this and a valve cover gasket to replace my leaking valve cover on 1998 Camry. I would loose nearly all my oil before 3,000 miles hit the leak was so bad. Couldn't tell where the leak came from so I just started at the easiest point. I needed a special socket but using this stuff ontop of the gasket worked great. It's rubbery when dry, doesn't fall apart, too rubbery to chip. Forms a good bond on the metal. Worth the price compared to the cheap stuff you get at auto rip.

Toyota OEM Gasket maker. Good stuff, especially with good surface prep. Sometimes the seller will put a sticker on top of the directions for the sealant.

Note to seller, please don't place the UPC Barcode sticker over the directions on the box.

Toyota FIPG is specified to be used on certain repairs, as referenced in the factory service manual.

While it is a bit costly, there's really no reason not to pony up the few extra dollars. After all when you really, really, want your transmission fluid to stay in the pan, and not leak out onto the ground is the additional $3 really your main concern?

Worked great, just as advertised. My oil pan hasn't leaked a drop since changing it, unfortunately I lost the cap, so half of the tube ended up going to waste. :(

Great product, works much better than your regular RTV, just make sure that once you have applied the sealant that the part gets installed and torqued down within about 10-15min.
