For the price of $5.00 and free shipping, this is a very good value and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars.

I would give it 5 stars if it were in brand new condition as advertised, but it arrived with scratches and scuffs.

Despite the cosmetic appearance, it weighed at exactly 100g on a small Sunbeam postal scale which I trust is accurate and reliable (weighed it three times to be certain - 100g each time).

I then used it too calibrate my second new scale which is a small, portable, precision scale that i will use to weight collectible coins. I bought the new scale because it is more precise and much more portable, but it requires calibration after transporting it.

Because I'm confident this weight really does weigh 100g, it gets the job of calibration done.

I understand that people expect something that is advertised as brand new to look brand new, not used. However, the sole purpose of this item is to calibrate a scale, not to hang on your wall and look pretty.

As with the other review, my weight came horribly scratched, with specks of unidentifiable crud on the bottom. Why were these advertised as "new" when they've obviously been used quite heavily?

I purchased the 100 Gram Chrome Scale Calibration Weight from Coolstuff4u.

The weight was supposed to have a nice cool handle on top, it didnt.

Instead it had a indented area where the handle should have been.

Plus the weight was scratched up, obviously used.

I woulnt give these people a 1 star , but that was the lowest choice I had.

From their website I wrote them a comment about my dissatisfaction , and received nothing for a response.

These people suck.

I weighed this guy with a Mettler analytical balance, accurate to a milligram, and it weighed 100.000 grams. I think that's 10x better than it needs to be. Cheap, too.

Mine wasn't scratched or corroded and didn't appear to have been touched by anything other than gloved Chinese hands.

When I received this item originally, it was not new as the product description stated (there were visible scratches on the item). I originally posted a review for 3 out of 5 stars. The scratches did not bother me as it is not an aesthetic piece in my environment. However, I was contacted by a Customer Representative about my review and offered me a refund on the product and allowed me to keep the item. Excellent Company that cares about it's customers.

I bought this to calibrate a new digital scale (American Weigh BT2-201). It is bright, shiny and in new condition. Initial weight on the brand new, factory calibrated, freshly zeroed scale was 100.05 grams. It's 3x too heavy for me to double check in my RCBS 505 scale, but after using this weight to recalibrate the digital scale, I compared weights for a few different lighter objects between the RCBS and new digital scale, and they were very, very close, well within the margin of error of both scales.

I'll have to take this weight to my local coin dealer and have him check it for me, like another reviewer did. Overall, I'm very happy with this little weight.
