From the Manufacturer

About Traditional Medicinals

In early 1974, three young friends started Traditional Medicinals® in the back store room of a small herb shop along the Russian River in Northern California. The company was founded with the intention of providing herbal teas for self care, while preserving the knowledge and herbal formulas of Traditional Herbal Medicine (THM). At the time, traditional herbal tea infusions had all but faded away in the United States. And never before had these reliable formulas been available in convenient tea bags. Over the decades that followed, the company introduced millions of health conscious consumers to traditional herbal tea formulas and the concepts of THM. These reliable natural teas were well received and Traditional Medicinals® has grown dramatically.

Well over a billion cups of tea have been produced at our beautiful country facility and some products like Organic Smooth Move®, Organic Throat Coat® and Organic Mother’s Milk® have become mainstream and can be found in supermarkets and drug stores throughout North America. Additionally, our product offerings have expanded to include some of our best selling tea formulas in other forms such as pastilles, syrups and capsules.

From our simple beginnings we have been able to share the wonder of herbs and pass along the knowledge contained in the great systems of Traditional Herbal Medicine. To this we have added clinical testing and scientific understanding, as well as sophisticated processes to ensure you reliable products. So, while our business has grown and evolved, we remain rooted in the serious and spirited commitment with which we began over thirty years ago.

Traditional Medicinals® offers Herbal Dietary Supplements, Natural Health Products, OTC Medicines and Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products for the global market.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!, March 7, 2008
By E. Brooks (Williamsburg, VA (USA)) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is my second child, and I didn't produce well for the first one, so I'd pretty much resigned myself to minimal milk production and the theory that anything was better than nothing. I was pumping at work three times a day and taking home about 9 ounces of milk total (and at that, it's more than I'd managed with the first child) when I caught a cold, and my production started to dwindle again, even though I wasn't taking any drugs. Frustrated but unwilling to wean my baby at only 2 months old, I started taking this tea in the hope that it would at least sustain my current level of production. Because it's a little on the expensive side (I was buying it locally at the full retail price) I only drank 3 cups a day. (It recommends 3-5.)

A week later, with my cold only just starting to clear up, I was taking home almost 12 ounces of milk. Another week and a half later, I'm catching another cold (the downside of having 2 kids in daycare...) but I'm taking home a solid 14-15 ounces of milk every day. This tea is the ONLY THING I have done differently -- no other supplements or dietary changes, no changes in feeding or pumping schedules -- so I know for sure it's the tea that's doing it!

I don't know where its effectiveness will level out, or if my production will continue to stay elevated if I stop drinking the tea, but at this point, I'm just thrilled with the short term results!

5.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly great for my severe PMS and cramps, December 14, 2008
By Vicki "Vicki" (Sacramento, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This tea is wonderful. I was skeptical that it was going to help my cramps but I decided to try it. I knew the tea by itself is good for you and it's organic so I thought--why not? Because of this tea, this month is the second time I have not been popping Ibuprofen like candy. I drank this tea in the morning (double dose..2 bags in 1 cup) and 1 dose 3 hours later. I was at church so I didn't take the tea with me and the cramps were starting to bother me again. When I got home, I drank the tea and after 30 minutes, completely pain-free. I read raspberry leaf is good for the uterus..Anyway, it helped me. The tea has to steep for 10-15 minutes covered. Honestly a pleasant surprise. Everyone was telling me to take birth control pills to lessen severe cramps but I refuse to because of the serious side effects. Can't go wrong with natural.

5.0 out of 5 stars swear by this stuff!, January 26, 2008
I am into non-medicinal care as much as possible. I don't do well with all sorts of prescribed medicines; last go around caused my immune system to crash and I was a long time in rebuilding it. When you find something that works so well with simple herbs you are delighted. Gypsy Cold Care isn't bad tasting. Sort of a twiggy with a strong mint-type flavour. Only who cares what it takes like! This stuff works for me. At the first hint of a cold or sore throat, I brew a pot and drink it. Generally all the cold symptoms just fade away in just a few hours. I have recommended it to dozens of friends and it works well for them, too.

So if you are looking for all natural alternatives, you might consider this the next time you feel a cold coming on. I keep it on hand all winter.
