    Previous to writing this review I had a small problem with these shoes. I contacted Amazon about the problem and they speedily resolved the issue to my complete satisfaction. I have been a loyal buyer of Sperry for many years and will continue to be. The nice appearance and comfort of the boat shoes are what attracted me initially. The product is of excellent quality in material and durability, two things that should be paramount in footwear. I recommend Sperry to anyone looking for a quality boat shoe.

    This quality shoe is perfect for leisure boating and to be worn without socks, they seem to fit a little tight. I would recommend a 1/2 size increase when ordering.

    Because of the many reviews I read here at Amazon, I ordered these shoes a half size smaller. I could have ordered a full size smaller to make it fit more perfectly. But the half size smaller still allows me room for socks with different thickness level. Other than the size adjustment, these shoe are outstanding! Well made like the other Sperry Top Siders have have owned for many years. And being boat shoes they add greater flexibility for everyday use.

    They look good, but it's strange that for over 15 years all my sneakers, dress shoes, tuxedo shoes, flip flops, slippers, socks, and anything that would go on my feet would always be size 12, and when I ordered the size 12 in this shoe it was far too big so I returned it and got a size 11 and it's still a tiny bit big but fits far better. So I would order a size smaller than you're used to just to be safe.

    I have worn a size 11 shoe for 50 years. I even have this same Sperry shoe in a different color in size 11 and it fits perfect. Not so for this color(coffee). I ordered two size 11 in this color and they were both too large, more like a size 12. So I tried a size 10.5 and it fit perfect! Just like the size 11 in the other color.

    I've written that these shoe do not give good arch support which is a bit of an exaggeration. They have okay/ average support, but I have a foot that would appreciate a bit more to be considered in the "good" category.

    This is my third pair of Sperry billfish slip-ons, so obviously it is a shoe I love. I wore the last two pairs until the sidewalk was rubbing the bottoms of my feet and had a hard time giving them up even then. The uppers looked like they still had many miles left in them, (my wife might disagree a bit). I would rate the first pairs A+, extraordinary quality and comfort.

    I will say that this pair seems to have lower quality, (thicker/harder) leather than the last pairs. The build quality is still excellent, and I am hoping they will "break-in" to be as nice as the others. If so, I'm hoping to buy a couple back-up pairs on black Friday if they go on sale, which seems to be rare for this shoe.

    Wear Ready! Fit true to size. You just can't destroy these shoes. These are replacements for the same shoe purchased a few years ago. My husband had tried another less expensive brand which became very uncomfortable in less than a year. He's came right back to these Sperry Top-Siders. He purchased these in the light color first and a week later order the darker color which fit just the same!

    I wear 11M for most brands of shoes, but these came as a surprise as there was nearly 1/2 inch to the heel, so I sent them back and ordered a 10 1/2M which is still a little big, but fits me well. The vendor has an unusual policy that when you buy your normal size and they don't fit, they will not do an exchange. They asked me to send back the 11's for a credit, which I did and which they quickly honored, and I ordered the smaller shoes which showed up 2 days later. The other surprise was that the 11's were cheaper than the 10.5's by about $7.00..., still don't know why.

    The shoes are amazing, very well constructed, very comfortable to walk in (once you find your size) and attractive as well...., no doubt that Sperry deserves its' reputation as a quality shoe maker. I am satisfied with my purchase and the vendor, even though I don't understand the strange policy, especially in light of the fact that they are very efficient with what they do, but that is just the way it is.
