I never had a minnow bucket like this and I love it. The minnows that are left at the end of the day are actually still alive because they have been getting oxygen rich water the whole time while I was fishing. Just be sure to lock the latch before setting the thing in water. Lost an entire bucket full because I didn't latch it LOL

I have used these containers for many years. i now fish mostly saltwater. I have had to replace the older ones for legitimate reasons (mostly my fault). However, the newer ones are no longer holding up. The weight is attached with extruded plastic. the plastic holding the weight breaks creating a hole in the side of the container. This makes it unusable for water is continuously draining from the container and the weight shifts within the bucket. I will not be purchasing them any more until this current design is corrected.

Been using this container for bait since mid winter. I started ice fishing this year and I needed to buy a few things on a budget. Insulated bait containers were much more expensive than this one. Plus, in the summer I fish from a kayak so this was perfect for that. Its held up extremely well even after all the hauling and abuse I've put it through. I also like how the door can be propped open by pushing it up firmly, then lowered by pushing down on the carry handle.

The bucket is simple and served its purpose for the three times I used it for fishing this year. If you can buy some rope you can easily tie it to the handle and drop it in the water. The door stays shut with or without the safety lock. The bucket is light and colorful so that you can see it even in the murky water. I held about 10-20 baitfish that I caught with a cast net and could've probably held about another 10 fish. Cleaning the bucket can be tricky as the door doesnt stay open so you will have to hold it open with one hand while you attempt to spray and clean it with the other. The bucket is otherwise very solid and has been banged around in my trunk without any visible signs of damage.

Unit itself seems ok but I have purchased this same product about 5 years ago and it seemed much thicker and durable. The door on this is very flimsy but works. If I get a year out of it I gues that's ok for the price. Still cheaper that Wally world's price on this. Hope this helps.

Just what i We have had these minnow buckets for "years" and they are great! We live on a "fresh water" lake, not salt water. They hang off the end of our dock from May - October and have withstood the wave action and other elements. They are sturdy, they allow good water flow and aeration for the minnows. In addition, we don't loose our minnows to the Otters which have been able to open the top of other buckets we've used. I highly recommend this product.wanted it does the job very happy with it

I have many minnow buckets and this one is the best I have had other than the old timie Metal ones. This has a inward lid that is spring loaded in case you forget to latch it so you won't loose your minnows. It also floats at half fill unlike the last two i bought for much more money that sunk over 3/4's new and eventually they would't float at all but this one so far has out performed the rest and for the money, it is even a better deal. You will love this one. Only thing i would change is the handle, it could stand to be a little heavier duty but other than that, its great.
