Orville's bags are 2.9oz, cost only 20% less during an Amazon sale, have nearly the same calories as Bearitos, accept they come 3x more from fat than fiber, and Orville's has Triple the sodium.
Bearitos seems bland, but that's the whole point of this product. to achieve the best fully popped natural corn without the flavorings, oils, and salt of everything else on the market.
If you are looking for something toned down from the fully flavored over salted stuff you buy in the supermarket, then Orville's is great. But if you want a true minimalist diet popcorn;
this is it. Bearitos also pops up fuller, softer and larger per kernel than Orville's does, making for an excellent filling snack when you are looking for a great 100 calorie indulgence.

I have ordered the BEARITOS organic no oil, low salt microwave popcorn for a couple of years and have consumed and enjoyed many cases (36 packets). However, with the last two cases (received in early January and early February ) the quality has really gone downhill. Most of the packages do not stay shut during popping, and spill out lots of popcorn in my microwave and leave lots of un-popped kernels and have inconsistent popping. I canceled my automatic monthly deliveries today. Maybe they have slightly decreased the size of the bag or have changed the glue that holds the end together, I don't know. The bag is definitely different because it just has a generic Microwave Popcorn label on it instead of the BEARITOS name. But the result is a mess, and a once loved product is now off my purchase list.

Popcorn can be a great addition to a healthy diet. Has good fiber, fills you up, and is good. Personally, I wanted to get rid of the greasy fingers and suspicious butter-like additives in some brands. On Amazon, I found this product and set it up for bi-monthly delivery. However, I meant to order the "No Oil" and "Salt-free". By the time I figued out my mistake, (a few minutes), Amazon had my popcorn in shipment status. So when I got the case, I used it.
This is great popcorn. Once one figures out the perfect time for the microwave, there are virtually no unpopped kernels. Not being a popcorn aficionado, my review has to be taken with a grain of salt. However, I highly recommend it.
Speaking of salt, I rarely use it and find it overpowering even in small amounts. I have since began a recurring delivery of this same product except in the salt AND oil-free version.

I'm really not sure what Beartos changed in their popcorn. We have made at last 4 other purchases prior to this one and they have always been excellent. With this last purchase I have seen countless 1/2 cooked bags or the bag actually opening in the microwave spilling popcorn and kernels everywhere (multiple times).
We have the same microwave so no changes there. It seems as though the bags are different or the seal in inadequate to withstand the cooking process. Or it's just a bad serial # and an isolated problem.
Any feedback from Beartos would be welcome and appreciated. At this point as a frequent Amazon purchaser and regular Beartos orderer, I will not reorder the product and will standby this less then acceptable review.

I had read a review about microwave popcorns that said out of 73 types tested ( who knew there were 73 types of microwave popcorn?) BEARITOS Organic no oil lightly salted always came out as one of the best. Not one to argue with success I bought my first box. We are now on our third CASE and loving it. Easy, fast and really good popcorn with no oil. Does not get much better than that :-}

I was looking for an easy-to-make, quick, organic popcorn. I also wanted something that had no oil added, so I could "dress it up" myself. Bearitos Organic No Oil Added Microwave Popcorn fit the bill perfectly. In the past I tried popping organic popcorn kernels in the microwave in a brown bag, but the texture of the popcorn always seemed like styrofoam to me. This is not the case with the Bearitos popcorn. Even without any oil, this popcorn has a great texture and the "Real Salt" brand salt that they use imparts a wonderful flavor. It is good without any oil added, but can be made way tastier and believe it or not, healthier with my recipe below.

Now, onto the recipe for my Popcorn of the Gods. It could not be simpler: melt about a tablespoon of Purity Farm Organic Ghee, Clarified Butter, 13-Ounce in the microwave for 10-30 seconds, depending on the strength of your microwave, before you make the Bearitos popcorn. Then, make the popcorn. Pour about 1/3 of the popcorn into a large bowl and mix with about 1/3 of the melted ghee. Continue to alternate adding the popcorn and the ghee until you've fully added both. Mix extremely well, trying to coat all the popcorn with the ghee from the bottom of the bowl. Voila! Popcorn of the God! Better tasting than any movie theatre popcorn you've ever had and very healtlhy also!

As a side note, I had read an article indicating that microwave popcorn was bad because Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is used to line the microwave popcorn bags, and when they are heated the compound, which has been linked to infertility, leeches onto the food.Read more ›
