Amazon.com What's Better Than One 5.8 GHz Phone? Three Panasonic 5.8 GHz Phones
Now, we've made it easier to enjoy all the benefits of our functional, fashionable and flexible phone systems by putting three in one package. With this 3-in-1 bundle system you get 1 base unit, 2 chargers and 3 handsets. And just like our expandable systems you only need one phone jack to operate all three handsets! Plus, the three-handset systems use Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology to ensure great sound, incredible clarity, long range and excellent security from eavesdropping.

Long Range, Clear Sound, Minimal Interference
Our 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining the great security, incredible clarity and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi.

All-Digital Answering System
This phone system is equipped with an all-digital answering system for quick, easy retrieval of crystal-clear messages. Message operation has never been easier, with up to 15 minutes of recording time, plus such features as pre-recorded outgoing message, remote operation, Tollsaver, and skip-and-repeat. And don't worry about losing your messages when the power goes out-they're stored in flash memory so they're unaffected by power failure or interruptions.

Kids Sleeping? The Antenna Will Signal You Silently
This year, we've found a way to shorten the handset antenna while still maintaining the long range that Panasonic customers have become accustomed to. But what's even cooler is that the base of the antenna - which lights up - will alert you to an incoming call (or a message waiting for you1). Select from blue, green, amber or multi-color options. With Light-Up ID2, you can choose a light-up indicator color, blue, green, amber or multi-color, to link to your preprogrammed phone book data. The light-up indicator will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message in your voice mailbox. So turn off the ringer, let the kids sleep, and never miss a call.

Put the Phone Down While You Talk
Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal-until you have to call an automated phone system. By the time you press "2" and return the phone to your ear, you missed half the next option! And when they put you on hold for ten minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with the handset speakerphone. Just listen along, and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa listen to their new grandchild at the same time, painting your nails as you talk to your best friend, or just being able to set the phone down while you talk.

1. Requires subscription to voice mail service from your phone company.
2> Requires subscription to name-and-number Caller ID, call waiting and/or voice mail services offered by certain local telephone companies for a fee. Name pronunciation may vary. Name pronunciation quality is based on names most commonly used in the U.S.A.

What's in the box
Base, three handsets, AC adaptor for base unit, two chargers, two AC adaptors for chargers, telephone line cord, wall mounting adaptor, three batteries, three handset cover (comes attached to the handset), belt clip

5.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic, you FINALLY did it!, July 1, 2006
By elviswoman (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews
I have been using Panasonic's phones for about 15 years now. I have always thought they had good products that lasted a long time, and there were always great features such as the speakerphone in the handsets, fun ringtones, etc. But one thing that irked me to death was the caller-ID functionality. I live in an area where the area code is required to dial all calls. The old phones attached 1's to everything that came through on the caller ID and you had to go through a complicated "editing" process to be able to call back a number that was on your caller ID. FINALLY Panasonic has addressed this and WOW, it WORKS! You simply go to the number on the caller list and push talk and it dials. Hooray! Additionally, if you have entered a number in your phone directory, it will apply the name info you entered to the information coming through on the caller id. You can even set special ring-tones or a designated light color to flash on the antennae for certain callers. Unnecessary but a cool bonus to me!

Another feature that I like, with this being the first multi-handset phone I have purchased, is the ability to build a phone directory into one phone and send it to the other phones in the house remotely. Also, you only need to access one phone line with the main base unit. For the other two phones, you simply plug the base units into the electrical outlet for charging and POOF, you are hooked up!

These phones are sleek, light-weight, have great sound reception, AND we have tested the speaker function both up close and at a distance, even next to the fridge for interference, and the sound quality is impeccable.

This phone system is a great product and an excellent value for the price. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to go cordless all over their house with quality handset units. Panasonic has come a LONG way in the last 5 years with their phone products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this phone!, May 22, 2006
This is a great cordless phone, you would expect nothing less from Panasonic. The clarity is excellent, there is no static interference and the battery life is very good. The 3 handsets are great and of course only one needs a phone jack so you can put them anywhere in the house.

You can customize ring colors, ring tones, caller ID, all great features. You can import your phonebook and copy it to all handsets or just 1. You can listen to your messages from any handset as well as remotely.

My only beef is pretty minor. If you get a call, it says "missed call" on all the phones. Other phones I have had would clear this message on all phones after you viewed it. With this model, you have to clear each individual phone. It is only annoying probably because I am used to it the other way but I can live with it. Clearing the message is very easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good multi-handset cordless telephone system, June 23, 2006
By D. R. Schryer (Poquoson, VA United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
I just purchased the four handset version of this system last week and I'm very pleased with it. All of the features are convenient and work well and the voice quality is very good. One feature I especially like is that it can store up to 50 names and phone numbers in each handset. And, once programmed in one handset, entries can easily be tranferred to other handsets if desired. Another convenient feature is that the system can be used as an intercom, with any handset calling any other handset. This is the most complete and most convenient phone system I've ever had and I like the quality and reliability of Panasonic products.
