I used to be the only one I knew who loved this candy, then eventually my wife grew to love them also... We started calling them "Vitamin G" way back in the early 90's, but then my youngest daughter came along and she is also an addict!

But here's the deal, I grew up loving the hard stale Good and Plenty that came out of the "Choo Choo Charley" boxes, but once I stated buying the 7 ounce bags and got fresh Good and Plenty, I grew to even love it more. Here on Amazon is about as good of a deal as you are likely to find at about $1.40 bag it is less than I can find at even the discount grocery stores where freshness is hit and miss.

I remember my first piece of licorice. Good and Plenty is as good as it gets nowadays. Someone complained it wasn't soft and chewy: well, I dump a box into a dish so it dries out a little because it lasts longer that way. The price is better than any store. Can you tell I LOVE "Good and Plenty".

We go through a lot of this at our house. Our dog loves this stuff so we use it to train her. Since she receives such small amounts, I don't think it hurts her. (Even when she stole an entire box of Good & Plenty off our counter, tore it open and ate all of it, it didn't make her sick.) And it works when we want her to do something. All we have to do is say "Licorice" and she comes. After pricing the various Good & Plenty offers on Amazon, I found this to be the most economical. Plus having the smaller bags means you don't have to expose the other candy to air until you need it. Thank !you Amazon for making it easy for us to keep Good & Plenty on hand in our house!

These "movie theater" size boxes are the right size to have to watch a movie. I have ordered these a few times when the price can't be beat, which is usually the case on Amazon. Even though I don't finish them for a couple of months, the last box has been as good as the first box, with the licorice being soft and chewy, and the shell with a hard sugar coating that did not break down. One of my favorite indulgences!

Good and Plenty is one candy that hasn't changed over the years. What I can buy today is just like what I remember from when we were kids––the same soft, chewy licorice bits coated in pleasantly sweet and tasty pink and white candy shells. This 14-ounce bag is perfect for a family.

For those who are interested in the ingredients, here’s a list: Sugar, corn syrup, wheat flour, molasses, contains 2% or less of: licorice extract, gum acacia, salt, caramel color, modified cornstarch, artificial color (includes K-carmine and red 40), resinous glaze, anise oil, carnauba wax, artificial flavoring, and sulfur dioxide, as a preservative.

I must have gotten used to rather stale Good & Plenty because once I received this order (speedy shipping ala Prime) and tasted from the first bag (and each bag thereafter) I was pleasantly surprised to find very soft licorice - yum. No packaging problems with my order (no holes/punctures) - the packages were secured from movement with the inflated baggie things. And yes, I've reorderd :)
