    Whether it's intended to be worn as part of a uniform nor not, I think that one of the most important details in a pleated skirt is actual sharp pleats. Unfortunately, that's the problem with this skirt. The pleats didn't just fall out after being washed, this skirt arrived wrinkled and with very loose pleats to begin with. After washing, most of the wrinkles disappeared, but the pleats simply looked undone, almost as if they'd been ironed out.

    The problem pleats are too bad because this might be a nice skirt otherwise. Its nice and long, without being frumpy. And its very lightweight, a definite plus when we spend much of the end and beginning of each school year in temperatures in the 90s.

    Another drawback for us, though one which is easier to deal with (almost anything beats ironing) is the waistband. The frontis a flat band, while the back is elasticized. My daughter is small for her age, and we often have to choose length over waist size. This skirt doesn't allow for tightening or for a belt. As she gets bigger and closer to the next size, though, that presents an advantage since this skirt has some give to it.

    This isn't my favorite uniform skirt, but my daughter's uniform doesn't gonthrough an inspection, so I suppose it's an acceptable one.

    Bought this skirt for my 9 year old daughter. She is petite, so the size 8 skirt was a little loose, but fit very comfortably. Washed and dried. No wrinkles. The purchase was made as part of a costume, but, I think she will most likely wear again for everyday school.

    I got this for my daughter, and it is a bit big. I'm hoping it will fit well by fall though. So this review is not based on her actually wearing it out and about, at this point.

    I love the length of the skirt, and the fabric seems sturdy. Care instructions are pretty standard (machine wash cold, non-chlorine bleach, tumble dry on low).

    The pleats pretty much "fell out" of the skirt when we pulled it from the package. It still looks nice on, but I think having the pleats in place would take some starch and time with an iron. We don't care -- we just need a uniform skirt in khaki.

    The elastic in the back of the waistband will mean that this skirt will work as she gets "too big" for this size too. There isn't anything to help size this down, but the give in the elastic will help this work longer.

    This has that sad/cheap polyester feel/look that one might associate with clothing from decades ago. Nothing about it is tactile or attractive. Moreover, when we removed it from the bag in which it was shipped, it was hopelessly wrinkled ... so, we washed it. Big mistake. The pleats were a wreck. And, since I have no intention of dry-cleaning a $12.00 skirt, we tossed it.

    For around the same price (sometimes a few dollars less, sometimes a dollar more), you can buy this gorgeous skirt: Eddie Bauer Big Girls' "Belt & Pleat Twill" Scooter. It is a cotton/polyester blend that looks lovely, washes like a dream, and feels so soft and fantastic! Before even considering this skirt (or anything by this polyester heavy company), do consider the Eddie Bauer line (your children will be grateful ... and so will your bank account).

    Very cute pleated shirt that is practical as well. It fits true to size, and it has an elastic piece in the back of the waistband for added comfort. The fabric is easy to clean and doesn't need ironing. It could be used as part of a school uniform. The neutral color goes with everything. The fabric is medium weight and would easily from summer to winter. This one is a winner!

    This looks cute out of the package. However, I was surprised at how small it was. I am usually a size 6-8 and 8 is usually too big on me but with a size 8, this skirt will not button up. I will admit that after having 2 kids, I have a little bit of a pouch so if you have a bit of a belly, get a few sizes bigger. Also, right when I put it on, I can see the pleats already fading. It's cute if you don't really care about having the pleats and it was just a straight khaki skirt. However, if you're looking for the exact picture to show up on you when you wear it, you may be a little bit disappointed. I hope to lose my gut eventually but until then, I cannot wear this.

    I bought this for a Halloween costume, so did not intend to wear it more than once. If I had bought it for regular use, however, I would have returned it. The pleats flattened out before I even put it on. I had to iron them furiously, but without starch in the house it barely did anything. If you're looking for a polished look with crisp pleats, you may want to search elsewhere.
