I'd been wanting a way to add casters to my coffee table (the Tofteryd from IKEA). These worked perfectly for that!

The legs of the coffee table are exactly 1" tubes, but these sockets were a bit loose. I just wrapped a bit of tape around them, and then they fit snugly inside the legs.

I used them with Sheperd casters that had the same dimensions as these sockets. I had to hammer pretty hard to get the casters in the sockets, but now everything is secure and working well.

Instead of throwing out an older tubular chair, we purchased these inserts and bought some casters and made an unusable chair into one of value. These inserts are easy to slide in the tubular legs and look as if they will last for quite a while. They are a reasonable alternative to spending additional dollars to purchase new equipment.

Wasn't quite as tight a fit in 1" ID tubing as I'd hoped for. But I deformed the tubes a little before driving them in. They've stayed in.
