Pre-programmed Codes

MacroPower™ Single-button Control
MacroPower is a unique feature that enables you to turn all of your components ON or OFF at the same time, simply with the press of one button. What would normally take multiple remotes and button pushes, the RF10 can accomplish with the press of one button. In addition to the Power ON or OFF buttons, any of the Component buttons can be set to be "macro" buttons.

SimpleSound® Total Volume Control
SimpleSound is a dynamic feature that gives you total volume control over all the components in your system, even those without their own built-in volume control such as TiVo, DVD and VCR, thus saving you the hassle and inconvenience of constantly needing to switch between Component modes on the remote. With SimpleSound you can set the RF10’s volume control buttons to always control the sound in your system, even when you’re in VCR or DVD mode, without switching back to AUDIO or TV. Even more exciting, SimpleSound has what is called a ‘Punch Through’ feature and is not limited strictly to volume control.

Fully Backlit Keypad
This makes the RF10 easy to use in the dark or in dim lighting conditions. Simply press the LIGHT button, conveniently located on the side of the remote, to backlight all the keypad buttons and the LCD screen. To turn off the backlight press the LIGHT button again, or just wait 10 seconds (the backlight automatically shuts itself off).

"Barrier-free" RF (Radio Frequency) Capability
Of all the RF10 features, this is probably the most exciting. When used in combination with the optional PowerBlaster™ [sold seperately], the RF10 becomes an amazing remote control powerhouse that sends multi-directional RF (Radio Frequency) signals that pass through walls, doors and floors – both indoors and outdoors. This changes everything...it enables you to control components that are completely out-of-sight, up to 100’ away. The PowerBlaster picks up the RF10’s radio frequency signals from any direction, regardless of distance, so the RF10 doesn’t need to be pointed directly at any component. Progamming up is very easy , buttons are laid out very well. This "is" the last remote you'll ever need. I have another previous model and could not be happier. The light is a good idea when your watching your favorite shows at night , but this model has a "red" light back ground illumination which is very hard to see. The other model had a normal "greenish white" back ground which worked well. I'm not sure why they chnaged it , they should go back to it. I would have rated it 5 stars otherwise due to hard to see lighting..

It does work well, feels good in my hand, and does more than I needed it to do. I personally like this remote compared to some of others I have used. The remote controls my DTV receiver with the optional RF blaster unit, the Panasonic plasma TV, the VCR, DVD and probably anything I would want in the future. Be prepared to spend time programming the special functions, like turning the TV power off when you are using the remote on the VCR function, as an example...but everything does work on it, even the pretty red lighted buttons that you can see if you come from the planet Mars.

I have used various brands of universal remotes over the past 12 years, and I think this one is the best. I have never yet been able to get one remote to control all my components satisfactorily until now.

I just bought a new Sharp Aquos TV, Panasonic Blu-Ray, and Onkyo 100 watt receiver. Plus I have an AT&T Uverse Motorola box. Since some of these items are brand new, no remote codes would work (although the Onkyo remote came close).

This remote did not have the preprogrammed codes either...BUT...you can program this remote to do everything your other remotes do. It took an hour or so, but now it works ALL COMPONENTS! Woo hoo! I especially like the fact that it has specific Receiver buttons (like DTS, THX, DD) that MOST universal remotes do NOT have. So when I want to switch to THX sound, I just press Shift+THX on my remote and it switches...just like my receiver's remote would.

Plus, this remote's macro capability is endless...and it includes a Pause control so that you can make the macro pause for several seconds (while a component is turning on, for instance) before moving to the next step. This is VERY handy for slow starting components like Blu-Ray players and high-end Receivers.

The buttons are VERY well placed, and the light button on the side is ingenious.

It will take some time to get this set the way you want...but it is well-worth it!
