I don't understand why people don't like this game. It's fun, it's creative, and even somewhat challenging in a way. I love this game, I love how you gradually evolve, and it's just so much fun!!!!

This game is an awesome concept, you start as a single-celled organism and evolve to a walking creature, a tribe, a city, civilization and then space power. Sounds impressive, right? The first couple times you play the game it is! How you play herbivore, carnivore, passive, aggressive impacts not only the responses of other creatures in the world, but the items that you receive to upgrade or "evolve" your organisms. The customization in this game is fun! But limited. You have a limited amount of "DNA points" that you use to select more or less expensive items such as claws, mouths, etc. for your creatures. With each item having different advantages and disadvantages. This is really fun in the beginning of the game, but gets frustrating when you can no longer add more parts to your creature or you face developer created creatures that have no "DNA point" cap. And unfortunately, by the time you get to the space stage of the game you are so overwhelmed by other creatures that there is no real end to the game. I've played through it multiple times but have never even come close to "winning" either by brute force or diplomatic trading.

Overall this game is a really fun concept, but I feel frustrated and limited at nearly every stage of the game. I really wanted to like the game but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Plus it is developed by EA and requires registration and information gathering to play. Just so you know.

I got this for my 9-year-old this Christmas along with my old laptop. At first, it seemed like it was not going to load and when I looked on the box and compared it with her computer it did not have a video card that was supported. So, I kinda freaked out since this was the highlight gift for her for Christmas. However, it did load we just had to register it online. It REQUIRES internet access so beware of that. All that being said, my daughter love love loves this game! She even had some of her friends come over and they took turns playing it and everyone really likes it. It seems kind of addicting actually and I am glad I put parental controls on my kids laptop so it locks her out and I don't have to hear the begging.

The ability to make customized creatures and spacecraft in this game feels nearly unlimited and this alone makes the game worthwile. Wished the creature stage was longer and more complex, but it was quite enjoyable while it lasted. Hoping the sequel to this game improves the complexity and options of gameplay a bit more, but in the meantime I absolutely love the ease with which one can create.

I got this for my 15 year old but my son who is 12 loves it as well. They like being able to pick what they want their Spore to look like and if it will eat plants, other spores or both. Once they get to playing it I have a hard time getting them to give it up. Seems like a fun family game.

Still a great game after all these years! I'm so glad I got this! I love the creativity involved!

This game is about learning how to help your creations through being a microbe, to living as a land creature, to a pack hunter or social creature, to a tribal creature, ...and then on to civilization stage - where you take over the world! Finally, you reach out into space to take over the galaxy - by making friends, making deals and alliances, buying other races out, or eliminating enemies. And a surprise waits at the center of the Galaxy....

I bought this as a birthday present to replace the one that went missing at my daughter's friends house. Both of my kids love this game so replacing it right away was a must. My daughter's love the different levels of the game and how you can make your own creatures. It keeps keeps them entertained for hours and if i don't put a time limit on how long they can play they will be playing it all day. The graphics are good. Installing was a little difficult as it kept stopping and i had to keep having to hit retry. It would than install a bit more before stopping again so someone had to be at the computer the whole time. The last Spore game they had did this to.
