These can be applied to existing pipe, but will require securing manually if you do so.
They do not include adhesive tape on the seams. They are a continuos tube. If you can slide the insulation over a pipe without needing to split the tube it works great, otherwise you'll need zip ties or tape to keep the two halves from opening up.

Truth in lending - I'm not using this as pipe insulation.

For me, I wanted this to wrap around the shelf of a Racor PHL-1R Pro HeavyLift, to protect distribute weight on the straps I have woven through it, to hold my Jeep Wrangler Hard Top below it. And the foam also protects the hard top when I ratchet it up so that it is near flush with the Racor.

I cut the pieces to the size I needed for the Racor, and used the spare pieces to wrap around the jeep roof at the contact points where the ratchet strap hooks grabbed on. Worked great for my purpose of padding rather than insulation. Have no doubt it would work to insulate as well.

Price was good, and can also be easily replaced when I need to.

This Inexpensive foam tubing was purchased to insulate a potable water hose to an underground source. It came in packs of four in clear plastic bag packaging. Initially they are sealed along the length although there is a seam which can easily be split just by running your finger down it. They don't reseal afterwards though so you'll need zip ties, tape etc if you want to secure it after breaking the seal.

I also added electric heat tape along the hose and unfortunately this made everything just a bit too thick for the foam insulation to reseal completely. So they fit perfectly snug on a standard hosepipe but not so if you're adding anything to it as well. This wasn't a big deal for me and I just used temperature rated metal tape to complete the seal. I should have gone 1/4" bigger to avoid this but that's my fault.

In all very inexpensive and suited my needs great!

I have used these foam pipe sleeves before and have found them to be very good. They have lasted well also. They have a pre-made slit so one can just open the slit and cut to length the exposed pipe is. These have now been applied to my two hose pipes that are exposed and have confidence if we get a freeze the exposed pipes will be protected.

The 3 foot sections are great just wrap around the 3/4 inch water pipes for snug insulation - HOWEVER this product was NOT purchased to insulated hot water pipes. I have a 3/4 inch pine shelf above my washer. I keep hitting my head on the corner of the
shelf. I cut 2 sections of this insulation tubing at a 45 degree angle to meet at the corner. I opened the foam tube and clipped them to the edge of the shelf. Next I used the additional sections around the handle of my leaf rakes and yard push broom. Now I have a nice foam padding on my rakes and push broom. If the insulation begins to slip a bead of silicon caulk with hold the insulation firmly to the handles.
