The good - it keeps the drink hot for a long time (5 hours or so) and is nice and sturdy.

The bad - the lid gets sucked down as the drink cools and sometimes you can barely get the thing unscrewed. To get it fully leakproof you have to get it screwed pretty tight.

The better - Thermos Stainless King SK1005MB4 16-Ounce Leak-Proof Travel Mug. I love this model and is the one you should look at if you want a great, easy to use care-free mug that keeps your dirnk hot for a loooong time.

This is my second Thermos 14-ounce travel mug. I lost my first one - which I usually had a death-grip on so I wouldn't lose it. It's a great travel mug for work and anything else. It literally keeps the coffee hot for 4+ hours. The handle is great for carrying.

My only complaint is that if you screw the cover closed the whole way it builds up pressure (or loses pressure - not sure) inside so it is almost impossible to unscrew the top. I either had to find a pair of pliers or a burly man to get the top off for me.

I bought myself one awhile ago looking just for a coffee mug that wouldn't leak. Which is usually a major problem with coffee mugs. When I started using this I realized I got more than my moneys worth for it. Not only does it keep hot liquids hot for 4 hours and cold liquids cold for longer, but when you put hot liquids in it and close it up it heats them up even moreso as does it make the cold liquids colder. If I could, I would buy everyone I know one of these. I no longer use my coffee cups I just use this mug. If you aren't sure whether you should buy it or not, do it. You will not regret it.

WE LOVE THESE. They do NOT leak as long as you remember to turn the top to where you feel/hear the small click... They will keep our coffee hot for nearly 5 hours, if the coffee lasts that long. They also do not get the funky Old Coffee Odor many cup seem to get. We use them every day whether in the house or on the road, and are buying two more for our motor home. The DO NOT LEAK if you remember to turn the top until you feel/hear a small click. If you forget; however, they will leak. It only took me one time to learn to listen for the small click.

Oh my goodness, what an excellent mug!! Keeps coffee and teas very HOT for very long periods of time! I love everything about this mug, the screw top, the drinking wings that come slightly outward, the nice grip for the middle of the mug, the non-slip bottom of the mug, the handle and the little clip so that when your cup is empty (or full and sealed), you can hook it onto a backpack or a belt loop so that you don't have to hold it! THANKS THERMOS for such a wonderful to-go mug!

The only bad things I can say about this mug, which I wouldn't even complain about is that the liquid stays too hot, heehee, and you can burn your mouth trying to sip it, so SIP VERY SLOWLY to prevent burning your lips and tongue! Also, it's not easy to clean, so rinse immediately after you're through drinking because it can stink on the inside very quickly, which is tough to get out! I soaked the mug in hot water and baking soda overnight to help get that stink out. Lastly, there is a little ring inside the mug where the stainless steel inside meets the plastic top, that is sharp and not easy to clean, so I repeat again: thoroughly rinse your mug immediately upon finishing using it!!!! This will keep it clean and keep it from stinking.

I got this mug as a gift from my husband in 2006 or so. I drive an hour to work, and also take a lot of long trips. PROS: Stays hot/drinkable for up to about 3 hours, doesn't spill easily, fits in my cupholder in my car, the clip is handy. CONS: If you tighten it after making hot tea and don't open to drink it within the first hour, the heat will expand and make it almost impossible to open (will open and not break with vice grips, which I've had to use twice in 5 years), and hard to clean after the amount of use/abuse I put it through (my fault). The only thing I drink in this is tea, so I'm probably to blame for not cleaning it as well/often as I should. I just broke the rubber seal yesterday trying to clean it, that's why I'm back online and amazed to see this exact product is still on the market. Buy one, it's GREAT!

I bought one of these 9 years ago so that I could have a mug that I could close tight and put in my saddlebag in the morning and not spill my coffee. I loved that mug. The only reason I bought a new one is because the O-ring started to deteriorate. After 9 years, I think I definitely got my money's worth. I expect to get at least 9 years out of this one too. I'm still going to use my old one for camping. It still keeps my coffee hot for a long time.
