The original black color disk lasted 15-18 years, then started harden and leaked. I search for better, what attracted me is the "chemical resistance". This disk lasted only 3 years, after which literally deteriorated. Cracked and crumbled. This might be is caused by warm fill water that I am getting through a mixing valve to avoid condensation on the bowl. Otherwise It's nice and soft, seals correctly, but the longevity is very short. The last thing: Home depot sells the same one for 3 bucks, when considering the quality/longevity, for little more you can have two disks an be all set for next 6 years...:-),

Good part at good price. I was thankful to find this since no hardware store stocked it locally. I think maybe the rubber is reformulated. It may be more chlorine resistant, but I found I had to add additional counter weight to the assembly to time the valve to work as with the older part. The parts look the same, but functioned differently. In the end, I was completely satisfied with the result. If the rubber is indeed more chlorine resistant, I'll probably never have to change it again. We'll wait and see.

Advertising says it fits BOTH snap on and screw fittings. It does NOT. Mine is a screw on and all that the package included was a small square nut (the correct thread however) but there was nothing to secure the nut which would then hold the disc. The screw fitting was square with a rather short 1/2 inch screw at the end. Apparently there are many more versions of this same looking item than those being sold. I bought the dual version thinking if I did that it would all work. With the right fitting in the disc which would hold the screw at the top of the disc sleeve, there might be some useful attachments, but what was needed didn't come with the unit. There was another unit advertised on Amazon which might have worked. Next time I'll use a store, not online for most everything....except books.

Did not fit correctly. No matter what I did it wouldn't seal the pipe. The toilet leaked worse than before.
