Perhaps for one of my generation this will be seen a heresy but I feel that CW is the biggiest musical sensation to hit American shores since the Beatles in the 60s. I can best sum it up by saying their songs reflected the times whereas Meav's music and that of CW reflect all times. They cover the heart and soul of the Celtic peoples. So perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise that Anuna has released a CD featuring Meav's works with them. After all CW has be number 1 on Billboard for over 68 weeks. These works show Meav as young soprano just breaking into the music scene. Each selection is outstanding. If you love CW and Meav then buy this CD you will not be disappointed.

I didn't know anything about Anuna at all before purchasing "Deep Dead Blue", where I heard Meav first, and downloading this record. What a sound! Meav blends beautifully into the ambience of this mysterious and enigmatic release, and the sound of the arrangements and original songs by Michael McGlynn, the group's director truly belongs to a different time and place. The best tracks on this release I think are "When I was in My Prime" and "Midnight". Buy, buy, buy!

Celtic Dreams is another fine preformance by Meav in her early years. I highly recommend this to everyone, especially fans of Meav and Anuna.

"Celtic Dreams" features Meav Ni Mhaolchatha, famed Celtic soprano and former vocalist with super group Celtic Woman, in earlier days when she toured and recorded with Anuna, the brilliant Celtic choral group that has spawned a number of famous Irish vocalists from its ranks, including fellow Celtic Women Orla Fallon, Deirdre Shannon (Gilsenan), as well as the popular and talented Irish singer, Eimear Quinn.

This record could be looked at as a crass attempt to make extra cash by capitalizing on Meav's name recognition from Celtic Woman, and perhaps it is, but what's most important is that the music is superb. Meav's vocals are universally recognized as some of the sweetest, purest, and when needed, most haunting in contemporary music. Coupled this with the power and majesty of Anuna's chorus and you have beatiful music. Standout selections on this record are "St. Nicholas," "Gentrai," "Beati Quorum Via," and the dread-filled, foreboding "When I Was In My Prime."

This is a wonderful collection and gives the listerner the desire to hear collections featuring the other famous solo artists who began their careers with Anuna.

It was because of Meav's involvement that introduced me to the ethereal choral group Anuna, which has become a favorite of mine.

This CD highlights the five years she spent with Anuna as a soloist. There are group numbers like "St. Nicholas" and "Beati Quo Viam" that make it a bit difficult to pick out her voice, but the solos like "Midnight", "Geantrai," and "Ardaign Cuan" are beautiful. Songs like "Nobilis Humilis" and "The Mermaid" show off how she can effortlessly reach those high notes.

A very beautiful album. Highly recommended for fans of Anuna and Meav.

I own the majority of albums from the Celtic Women and they are among my all-time favorites. I bought this album without even previewing most of the tracks, and now that I have heard the entire album, I'm sorry I purchased it. I'm not sure how to describe this music; sweet, ethereal? To me it is too contemporary, tuneless, repetitive in spots. I realize this is a matter of taste, and I think the talent and production values are top notch here. I would caution you though to preview the tracks before you buy, and make certain this is what you want.
