This CD is a mix of most of the Genres of music sung by the Vienna Boys Choir (aka, Der Wiener Sangerknaben [in German]). Their Christmas music is delightful, but the serious choral music aficianados will especially appreciate this recording for its Strauss renditions and for the folksongs [ aka, Volkslieder ]. A great CD!

This CD can be enjoyed by those who enjoy boys choirs in general. The first four cuts are rather unimpressive in that the choir is merely
"singing along" with an orchestra and the boys voices are sometimes drowned out by the instruments. Cut 5 has returns to the heart
of what boys choirs can do well--complex arrangements with beautiful harmonies. Cuts 6-8 are also quite good. Overall I would have
liked to hear more music with sections featuring boy soloists or small groups of boys singing parts.
