These plastic registration/insurance wallets are nice, but there's a problem: the plastic windows they use to hold the documents in place don't age well in a car that gets subjected to cold and heat. After about 12 months, they become a wrinkled mess, and the ink on the documents sticks to the inside of the windows. So I wind up throwing the thing out and buying a new one. I've probably gone through about a dozen of them this way. Fortunately, they're cheap so I suppose if you're willing to replace the wallet every time you get a new insurance card, they're okay. Right now I'm looking for a longer-lasting solution.

Like other have said, it is too small for NYS insurance cards and once the warm weather arrives, the plastic gets hot, sticks to the documents and pulls all of the print of of the cards.

It is more harmful using this item than not!

I bought one years ago and just found these available again and bought four more. One for each of our cars and for our grown kids' cars. Now it's easy to find that 'important paperwork' easily without too much digging in the glovebox. The velcro button keeps wallet closed when in glove box, too, minimizing space used. The two clear poly pockets inside allow you to see which of documents you need to pull out or check if they are expiring, etc. I also include a 'what to do in case of vehicle accident' checklist from our insurance company to help reduce the mayhem in such a situation. Maybe I can find a 'what to do when police pull you to side of road' situation checklist?

I love having an Insurance Registration wallet in my glove box to keep those things together.
The only problem with these things (true of all that I have tried) is that the ink from the documents eventually bleeds into the clear rubber cover over the document.
They need to change the material to something harder that doesn't attract that ink and absorb it.
Other than that, these things are great and everybody should use it.
After a few years, just replace it if necessary.

Handy little item to have and nice for the money. they are nice to keep insurance papers etc in and know where they are at and know they are not being lost or torn for the moment oyu need them i also keep a couple business / accident infomartion cards in mine that i printed up off my pc to share my pertinent info ... nice product

With cops going around looking for excuses to shoot somebody it is better to not give them more reasons by rummaging through your glove compartment box looking for insurance cards and titles. I keep this above the sun visor and feel more comfortable knowing I can grab it in seconds. A friend recently rummaged through their glove compartment over a speeding violation and the cop ended up pulling her out of the car and was holding onto his gun like he felt his life was in danger. Its best to have this and keep your interaction with the police state to a minimum
