I have tested numerous different brands of inkjet printable CD-Rs, searching for the best quality to use for a professional CD duplication service where the CDs are packaged and resold in record stores. The Primera TuffCoat Extreme are some of the best CD-Rs for a professional high gloss look. Dry time is quick and ink holds well. They are comparable to Taiyo Yuden/JVC watershield discs and I purchase whatever I can get cheaper at the time. Both are nearly waterproof, but the print and protective watershield layer on both can be removed and damaged by rubbing a wet q-tip in same spot very hard. That protective layer does hold up well and protects the actual printed images from regular scratches/damage as the ink kind of sets behind it.

I'd give 5 stars if the protective coating held up even better and was truly waterproof, but I don't think any such product will ever exist for inkjet printing. Thermal CD printing would be the way to go, but equipment is much more expensive.

These cd-r's are high quality and very impressive. The printing comes out extremely well when using the Bravo se Disc Publisher, which is quite an impressive machine.
