    I got this because Sperry is a good and reputable brand, and my children's school required Dirty Buck Suede shoes. After one month of use, however, I noticed the soles were beginning to wear off. After 6 months of use, the soles were practically all gone and the laces were in deeply bad shape. I ended up purchasing a brand you pair of Dirty Buck Suede from Academie, which turned out to be much more sturdy and durable (the soles are much tougher, harder and not foamy like the Sperry). It was also $3 cheaper than the Sperry. I'm still a fan of the Sperry brand, but this particular pair of shoes should NOT be used for school.

    I have never ordered shoes for my son over the internet but I needed some nice dress shoes quickly. These shoes were great -- very nice quality and they were comfortable for him to wear. I originally ordered the size 4 because that's the size he wears in his sneakers but the shoes were way too big. I ordered the size 3 and those were perfect. So, these shoes might run a little big. Thank goodness for Amazon's PRIME shipping -- fast and dependable! As a working mom I don't have a lot of time for shopping brick and mortar stores.

    My son wore these shoes for 13 days. The heels are already peeling off from both shoes. I expected better quality from Sperry. I expected these to last
    until the first week in June and then the first few months of the 2012-13 school year. Maybe I just got a defective pair. The shoelaces did not seem to be very good quality either. I'm quite disappointed. However, on an up note, I would like to add that my son thinks the shoes are very comfortable. I really wish the heel
    would have lasted.

    These shoes are part of a school uniform. They seem to run narrow so I always order them in the correct size but in the wide width. This is his fourth pair. I also find they wear well. I usually buy one pair per school year, but this year his foot grew and we needed to replace them 1/2 way through the year. I have also purchased the next size in wide for September.

    I purchased these shoes in a wide width for my son's preschool graduation and they were perfect for the occasion. They look great for a semi-formal event. He never complained about them squeezing his toes, and was able to participate in the ceremony, the after ceremony pictures, and family gathering following the event. The only thing I noticed -there isn't much give in the shoe, like with sneakers. So obviously these wouldn't be good for playing, or for recess.

    These shoes were school required, so I just got the ones with the best review at the best price. They are holding up pretty good, as well as suede can hold up. I will get them again, but I will scotch guard the next pair. I mean you get anything that is suede wet, and it's not going to look the same. I would buy them again.

    I've bought many pairs of tan bucks over the last 6 years for my kids' school uniforms. I think the Sperry is a good value. The sole has lasted longer than the others (some have cracked or split before my child has outgrown them) and I think overall the shoe is a little better quality. Also, it seems to require less breaking in - has a little softer feel than many in this same style by other makers.

    I ordered these in what was supposed to be a 13.5, they arrived and were dirty and clearly worn AND they were a size 12.5??? I was VERY disappointed in this order. It was the fist nightmare I've had with Amazon but I must say they apologized and had no problem helping me return them and they even credited me for all of the shipping charges :-)
