    This is the second pair of the Original SWAT Metro Air boots I've bought and they are a great boot for me! The fit for my slightly wide feet is very comfortable from the first day. The waterproof feature really works well for me as I live and work in the high Rockies with lots of snow in the winter, and then in the spring and early summer, lots of melting snow. The sole is nice and grippy even on wet rocks or terrain, and, here is the "but". Because the sole is sticky, it will wear down quickly. I got two years out of my first pair before retiring them. This boot is also very warm, which also works out very well as I'm a deputy sheriff here in Colorado where it gets cold and I can be outside for hours and hours at a time. Having nice, warm feet makes my shifts easier to work through. I would have liked to get more than two years out of my work boots, though, and here is the "however". Because I live and work were I do, I am scrambling over rocks, wading streams, crawling in and out of wrecked vehicles, even airplanes and I work in all sorts of weather from sub-freezing security shifts to hot summer Search and Rescues hiking for hours. In short, I am very hard on my footwear and this boot still fills all my needs and does it in spades! I highly recommend it to my fellow law enforcement officers.

    I am a huge fan of the non-zipper originals, they are much more comfortable than these, although these are pretty good too. I spent 5 years in the Marine Corps infantry, and by far my favorite boots ever for daily wear, running in, forced marching with 100+ pounds, are the Original Swats. I will continue to order the old style, the zipper is convenient, but less comfortable and I'll still go without in the future.

    I bought these boots in 2008 and I am wearing them as I type this review. I am a teacher at primary level and I am on my feet a lot. These boots have proven themselves for comfort and durability. They have even passed muster at some formal occasions. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because they were a little close fitting but that was my fault. I will be ordering another pair soon.

    UPDATE: FOUR YEARS!! The sole is very thin, some stitching is gone but I STILL WEAR THEM! I am going to order another pair as soon as I am done with this update. I am also upgrading my rating to five stars,due to the durability of these boots.

    ON A SIDE NOTE: My cousin who works in law enforcement told me that these boots are almost identical to those worn by the tactical squad of the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service. The only difference is the side zipper. How cool is that?! My physio therapist (I have a back injury) was also impressed due to the zipper which makes it easier to put on and remove.

    I work in a jail and walk on concrete all day with these boots my feet hips and back don't hurt at the end of the day. I have recommended them to all my coworkers. I wish the zipper was a little better quality but haven't had any issues with it.

    These boots are amazing. I had magnums before trying these and there is no comparison. I've worn them on 30 km marches and finished with no blisters and my feet felt great. I highly recommend these boots.

    I work EMS and private security, so I'm not new to the world of tactical boots, nor am I new to Original SWAT. My last pair were the WINX2, which would have been fantastic if I hadn't have had to place a few staples in them to keep them together (mostly in the velcro area around the zipper) and loop a captive key-ring where the zipper pull was, since it just snapped off one day when I was zipping up my boots. Those boots still fit well, but I wanted to keep them at my firehouse for quicker access, and they were beginning to get torn up around the toes (purely aesthetic issues.) I ordered these boots, figuring I'd try them out, and after one less-than-two-hour patrol, my right ankle is torn up. I laced the boots well, they are nice and tight, so I don't understand what the issue is. This isn't a problem I had with my WINX2's. Fortunately I also have a pair of sneakers with me, which I'm not technically supposed to wear on duty but I can get away with because I'm awesome like that. I am currently working a 16 hour shift, so I will try these boots in a more casual setting later on and possibly update my review if the issue subsides.
    UPDATE:
    Boots broke in beautifully after less than a week of casual use. Would have written an update sooner but could not for the life of me figure out how to do it until now.

    last year bought the same boot, but with a 5in top. did something dumb with a friend and hurt ankel. got the higher boot for support. so far i love the boot. it fit tights, and helps take the pain out of my feet. work in car oil and grease all day. will buy again when the time comes. hope it last a year like the last one.

    I took people's advise and went 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfect. I wear these boots for 16hrs at a time and they feel great. Comfortable right out of the box. My feet are happy to wear these at the end of the day. Definitely gonna get another pair when I have to replace these. You can't beat the price either
