I got this disc about a week ago and have really been enjoying it!! Even though I already had tracks 5, 8, 10 & 11, which were previously released in a limited 12" series issued through NovaMute in the UK (2001-2004), I have been eagerly awaiting this album. And the new mixes did not disappoint. I love what Black Strobe have done with "Getting Closer" and I am especially enjoying the Motor Remix of "Lightning Man", Dubfire's Jamrock Remix of "Control (I'm Here)" and Xpress 2's take on "Join in the Chant". The only criticism I have is that the LFO Remix of "Control (I'm Here)", which was also part of the aforementioned 12" series, was not included. It is by far my favorite of this new batch of remixes and I would have loved to hear it in CD clarity. Track it down if you can! I have been a fan and avid collector of Nitzer Ebb's music ever since I heard "Murderous" waaaaay back in '87 - wow, I'm so old! - and hearing these old favorites revisited & revitalized has been a real treat. Yes, the import price is a bit steep, so look for a used copy, though either way I highly recommend this album. And to those who say EBM is dead I say "Shut up & listen!" :)

Ultimately your enjoyment of this collection of remixes will come down to how much you like remixes in general.

Most of these mixes are from the "extended house mix" school of thought. Essentially they are longer versions of the song given a slight tilt towards the dance floor friendliness.

Not that these songs aren't already dance floor friendly, but even the hardest core fan has to admit that the album version of "join in the chant" and "let your body learn" are getting a little moldy.

For the most part these songs could fit right into a DJ set between combichrist and funker vogt songs. They're mostly all pretty hard techno versions that incorporate elements of the original song.

My main criticism is that many of these songs chop up the chorus and verse that it dilutes the sonic impact that the orginals had. In particular, when I first listened to the version of "Shame" on this disc I kept waiting for it to stop "breaking down" and get to the main mix...but alas, it always seemed to building towards something that ultimately never materialized.

I paid full price for this disc and I'm glad I did.

Body Rework (Rmxs) is a 2006 Mute Records release that contain remixed of Nitzer Ebb's most well known tracks. Here one gets to hear remixes of such tracks as Control (I'm Here), Getting Closer and Murderous to mention a few. I quite enjoyed the reworking of these classic tracks. Recommended. 4/5.

Don't bother. There are a couple of good tracks but most are either boring or downright annoying. Of all the 12" singles, CD singles, and EP's that I have, and Muscle and Hate, this is the worst. Did I say don't bother? What I meant was that this thing is a waste of time and money. Only people who collect things that have "Nitzer Ebb" printed on them would want this. You sure shouldn't get it for the music.
