I am a fiber artist in several different techniques, so I was excited if a bit intimidated to try these painstiks. They are heavy and high quality and cover well. The stiks are self-sealing and fresh product needs to be revealed with each use. A brush and the clear blending stik are must haves when using these for applications that require a firm line, but that is to be expected. These can be heat-set when used on fabric with either an iron or the dryer. I have not yet tried them on a wearable that will take multiple washings but will update this review if I ever do. All in all I was impressed with the product and impressed with Cedar Canyon Textiles, the company that makes the paintstiks. Their website has a lot of additional information regarding how to use the paintstiks and is worth checking out for free projects and updates. A recommended product.

I really enjoy these paintsticks! The only complaint I have is that when I was using the purple I would have to let it dry and go over it a few times in order to get the thickness of the hue that I wanted.

These sticks are shorter and narrower than the "artists" style -- so, that means for me they were great to experiment with. The color run the gamut of the crayola 8-pack of crayons, with a few others to help blend for new colors. Might be me, but the blending was not as easy as seen on YouTube tutorials. These are HARD sticks (even after peeling off their skins). So, a palette knife (or something similar that bends and holds it hard shape) is an essential -- as are muscles and patience. The colors can be blended. Don't expect it to take just a minute. Once blended though, they work beautifully and depending on what method you use to apply them, they are beautiful and don't detract from the drape of the fabric.

These are my first oil paints, and my first paint sticks - the colors are rich and full, and they blend really nicely.

I am excited to try out the new paint sticks. I will use them in a stencil manner. I really like the large color range, and plan on putting all my paint sticks in one large container along with my stencil brushes, and texture boards. I'm ready for my next project!

I wanted Winsor & Newton, but I was on a budget, so I shopped around and found these.
There were more colors and the same amount of paint for less money.I can't say it's better
than Winsor & Newton because these are Student's Oil Sticks, but good quality and they
perform well. I would buy them again. You won't be wasting your money that's for sure. If
your a professional artist you know what you like despite the brand.

I bought these so my 10 yr old nephew could draw & write on the back of a homemade quilt. They worked like a dream & he really enjoyed making the design & showing it off when it was done.Definitely recommend them if you want to draw on fabric & make it permanent.

This is a preferred product for me over other oil paint stick brands, and I got them for a great price. I was very happy with my purchase.
