I ordered 2 Dp30, On first use one burnt out leaving a scorch mark on an integrated circuit, the other unit powered on and off O.K. The next day it wouldn't turn on.
Both appear to have manufacturing dates of 2011 yet the boxes have 2014.
Like the other reviewer key lock doesn't work so good, you have to push and hold key in lock to be able to turn.
I have purchased other Cru-DataPort products namely the Toughtech Q and Ultradock v5 and they both work really well (bought from a well known US camera store) as Amazon didn't ship them to Australia.

I use these at the Campus and here at home and they work great. I use them at home for the kids. Everyone has their own HDD and if they mess something up it doesn't effect the rest of the family. The price of the units and cases was more then worth the time and aggravation of having to re-install the OS or fix any problems. Now I just re-image the HDD for whoever messed theirs up. We do the same thing at the campus, if one gets messed up, just re-image it.

My school uses this docks on all of their computers so i decided to install it on my desktop. The form factor fits perfect in 5.25" slot and it only requires SATA power cable and SATA HD connection to motherboard. I did not use screws to keep the dock in place because my case has rails system. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to boot their HD in different computers. The docking port comes with HD case, do not buy one separately.

My school uses these things and we spend 10-20 minutes before and after each class trying to swap our drives out. The keys are all shot, even for brand new enclosures, after only a few days. Here is what we are forced to do -- we take the double-handful of keys that are available and try them one at a time, until our thumbs and forefingers are raw, and eventually, sometimes after the third time through the entire pile of keys, one will work. It feels so good when the pain stops, it's like winning the frigging lottery!!
