I use this to make sausages. The larger casings fit snuggly on the tapered nozzle (smaller casings wouldn't fit) and I squeeze the handle with one hand while the other hand holds the casing on the nozzle. I like the fact that I can see through the tube, opposed to the stainless steel versions. My only issue is the diameter of the tube.... I wish it was bigger. It's a bit hard to spoon the meat into the tube due to the tube being only somewhat larger than a regular tablespoon. The tube being small also traps a lot of air. I feel like if the tube were larger, the meat would pile-up like in a bowl without air-pockets. It would also be easier to pack down. If the tube were larger, it would be easier to wash. I doubt even a small child could reach inside this tube.

The tube has a length of 15 inches and a diameter of 1-15/16. I think the volume works out to be 44 cu in, which is about 3/4 of a quart. It works flawlessly for what it was designed and is easy to disassemble for cleaning.

Better than expected! We had used a smaller one that didn't even compare to the quality of this one. The smaller one was more expensive, didn't work nearly as well. This is heavy duty extremely easy to clean. No over flow. Cannot think of one thing bad to say about it! You can clean this up in hot soapy water, and dry with a dish towel. Just twist and insert in the tube and it will dry immediately and return to storage in under 3 minutes! It's that easy. And even easier to use. I am not a jerky expert, but I am a kitchen gadget person. Wish I could think of another use for this nifty item! Highly recommended and very well made.

I lobe this thing. It makes making Jerky so easy. I have learned it is easier to load in small scoops and that if you read the instructions it helps. This is just so much easier to deal with than any other jerky gun I have dealt with.

Amazing jerky gun! Well built and very sturdy! I love love this thing! My old gun was so small and I was constantly filling and refilling it. With this baby I only fill it about 3-4 times max for 4 pounds of meat! Came in the mail fast too!

The plunger does not fit tightly in the tube. There are no seals/gaskets to keep the filling in the tube, so it squirts out around the nozzle. Spend the money on a higher quality product.
