The simplicity of this device is appealing. There are three POTS that can be used to dial in the correct fuel mixtures based each bike application and type of accessories installed. The device seems well made and is relatively easy to install. The OEM connectors for each model are a huge bonus as they eliminate having to splice wires in confined spaces.

...but, for my application, a Vulcan VN900, I'm finding the bike is running rich and it seems impossible to tune this out. I've read dozens of other reviews and I can see that many people have found it hard to dial in their configuration. In my case, I've even tried turning all settings off and the bike is still running rich.

This device seems to work best when installed onto a stock bike that has not had the air intake upgraded to a high-low or performance model. When the bike has a full stage 1, including; aftermarket pipes and air intake, it does not seem that this device can tune to that, which in my opinion makes it kind of useless - the reason most people would install a fuel tuner is to compensate for aftermarket pipes and air intake!

Have not spoken to Cobra support yet and will update this review based on what they say.

For now I think my advice would be to stick to a Power Commander - more expensive but they are tried and proven.

Definetly, the best choice for my Vulcan 900cc. Changed the performance of my bike... It gave some extra-horsepower!!! It was very simple to install, (I chose to use it with the Cobra Powrflo Air Intake Kit) No Problems after installation. All components are Hard Metal, Not plastic. I did all the instalation in about 2 hours.

After installing new exhaust on my 2008 Vulcan 900, I got the expected backfiring on deceleration. I purchased the Cobra Fi200R fuel processor after reading several reviews. It was fairly easy to install and took me about an hour to accomplish. The instructions were very good. After completing the installation and verifying that it was installed correctly by observing the three LEDs, I took the bike out for a test run. The backfiring was gone and the bike is more responsive in all gears. I didn't change the settings from those preset by Cobra. I'm very happy with this product.

My wife rides her two toned Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT and she has a little trouble keeping up with me when I pass slower vehicles. I ride a Kawasaki 1400 Concours. So with the Cobra Fi2000 installed (not the Fi2000R which is about 200 bucks more) and a K&N air filter she seems to have the extra power she was missing to stay with me in the passing lanes. The installation was easy, follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. I spent a hour give or take 5 minutes. I used a tennis shoe to prop up the tank so I could get my fingers on the injector connectors, if you do the mod you'll understand. We just got home from a 210 mile ride on Saturday to Sisters here in Oregon and at the settings of 4 - 2 - 2 she had good power and balance, from the idle to good fuel economy at cruising speeds (60 - 65). She said it's been more responsive as well. Thru Amazon from the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC retailer the whole buying experience was a pleasure. Best price on the market and shipping was on time and in good order when received. So, I rate this upgrade, five stars. Now for some after market exhaust and you don't have to change the settings at all I'm told. I estimate 10 to12 more horse power gain with the 8 to 10 she just got and I'll have to keep up with her, not really.

Very easy to install.
Takes some time to dial in, but can be done. The first setting is for the idle, adjust to where there is no popping, just a smooth sound.
The second setting is for throttle response. Crack the throttle and the light should come on instantly, if not adjust the dial so that it does. The last setting is for wide open throttle response. This one is best set by dino tuning the bike, but I have mine set on (3) and it responds very nicely. Don't be afraid to turn the dial settings, that's why they are there. The most important thing is to have the bike fully warmed up before setting.

The Fi2000R took about 15 minutes to install Total. Smoothed out the choppy slow responsiveness of the throttle and gave the bike a lot more pep with No popping on throttle release. Note: Installed on a 2009 VN900B in FL-USA. My Fi2000R is set 2.2.2 (for now) with a Cobra PowerFlo Air Intake Kit (No-marble Mod) and Baron Custom Accessories Hack N Slash Slip-Ons (baffles in).

This is a great digital fuel managnment system. It is not the $400 PowerPro. However, when properly adjusted it is going to work fine. Believe me. I was worried about ordering this piece. I only had to adjust the factory set "0" to a "2" and it works fine. Settings are a 4-2-2. Vulcan is running awesome. So I would definitely recommend this piece if you don't have the $400 for the PowerPro. You will not be disappointed. No more popping. No more gas smell. No backfiring in the add-on breather kit. Just scooting down the road after installing this tuner.

I used this in combination with Cobra Dragster pipes and Cobra Powerflo Intake. I recommend doing research on what the pot settings should be for your specific motorcycle prior to installing. This makes tuning so much quicker and easier as these settings should work to your liking.
