I bought this from Amazon because I am too lazy to drive the 3 blocks to the hardware store and buy this exact bag for the same price and since I have prime the shipping was free.. The wood itself, was woody, about the same size pieces as the picture. Some smaller, some chunks, all smoked just fine. Now if I could just get Amazon to get me the remote off the coffee table and beer out of the fridge....

Bag is about 3 lbs not 5 as advertised. Also has many small pieces that are best called wood chips rather than the advertised chunks.

I was cautious buying wood chunks online without being able to see the actual size of the chunks. However I was very pleased when the bag showed up today, all hickory and all nice sized chunks with no bark. I don't know if they are all like the one I got, but I'm happy with the purchase.

With Prime I received this and another bag of chunked smoking wood in 2 days. It was chunked just right, not uniform, but into pieces that one could use to put in a large clump or smaller pieces to make the perfect smoke environment to flavor the meat to perfection.
It has been incredibly cold in KC so I havn't used the wood yet, but soon, very soon. I don't know how Amazon can ship heavy items like this for free

Good chuck of pecan. I was a little worried at first because it was my first time buying the product but after the first time using the product. I have bought two more bags. The one thing I don't like is that I can only get it in a five pound bag. I would like a bigger bag. But once you cook with pecan you will not want to use anything else. I love the pecan wood chucks. Outstanding!!!!!!!!!! GET BIGGER BAGS PLEASE.
