The 19" length in the description is deceptive as it includes the length of the handle. The actual length is 14 inches. The good part is that it has a very stiff rod section. The bad part is that it has a very stiff rod section which means that once bent it is impossible to get it straight again and it also is less practical to bend it to fit inside a drawer of a tool chest and then use it again. I will continue to use a telescoping rod with a magnetic tip as it has as long a reach and is easy to store collapsed in a drawer until needed.

I needed a short magnet to get into a tight spot with a 90 degree bend. Auto stores seem to think a person needs just one kind of magnet and they didn't do the job I needed. This magnet fit the bill and did in 3 minutes what I'd been trying to do with another magnet for hours and still failed.

Every household needs to have one of these, whether its working on the car or some household improvement, you're bound to drop a screw or metal piece somewhere hands can't reach. This tool is a livesaver for when I'm working on the car, as it's so common to slip and drop a bolt way down in the engine bay. You just aim this down and it picks it back up for you effortlessly. And once you have one, you'll end up getting a couple so that you always have one nearby. I have one in the car toolbox and another at home.

This is a very useful tool to have in those situations where you've dropped a metal item and you cannot get to it with one of the straight, telescoping magnets. It obviously won't last forever since you are bending the metal each time you need it in a different configuration. For the price of these things though, I will be ordering a couple more. Definitely worth the money and will be a life saver in some situations.

These things are a no brainer if you wrench. Used my old ones until I was afraid they might break off (from all the previous bending) while retrieving an oops from an intake or whatever. Great quality build, little heavy in the gauge of flex wire, but that just means of few more tries to find the perfect bend. Life Savers. It's a magnet on a wire.. genius!!

Works as described, but my only gripe is how stiff the bar is. I figured it would relatively easy to bend and manuever but it proved to be sturdy in this regard. It didn't bend as easily as I hoped, but if you are lifting heavy magnetized objects this would be for you!
