I ordered the alphabet and numbers versions of this placemat. They arrived together and were obviously different quality - the numbers one was more flimsy, it seemed like the alphabet one got two coats of laminating making it more sturdy. I'm not sure if it was a fluke, but they were both acceptable quality to me at the time, not worth returning and they were cute. I was happy with my purchase initially. Both are adorable and my son loves to look at them and use them. I've had them for about 9 months now and have used them at almost every meal (alternating between the two), only handwashing each time, never soaking them. I'm back online to order new placemats because the laminating has now become so separated at the edges that the paper gets - and stays - wet with each wash on both placemats. They no longer lay flat and are headed for the trash. It isn't like they're terribly expensive and given the regular use, I suppose the investment to time used itsn't terrible. But, I had hoped that the placemats would have lasted longer than they did, and this time around I will try a different brand. I wasn't upset enough to say they weren't worth buying, but not pleased enough to be a repeat customer.

The item works fine as a placemat for the dinner table. For the price, I was assuming it was going to have a harder backing. I found same kind of flexible plastic ones at Target for 2.99.

We ordered this and another placemat for our 2 year old twins. They both loved them and enjoyed looking at all pictures during meal time. Unfortunately, after only a few weeks of daily use, the laminated seal began to peel and water got in between the layers and ultimately ruined the mat. If it had been sealed properly, this could have been avoided. :(

A thin laminated ABC place mat illustrated with animals starting with each of the alphabet letters. I LOVE that this features only basic capital letters, which is something I was looking for as we're just introducing the alphabet to our toddler. The colors and illustrations aren't amazing, but my daughter doesn't seem to mind.

Wanting to give my 2.5 year-old something fun to look at during mealtime, I snagged this placemat and it was exactly what I was looking for. Yes, it's just a heavy-duty laminated cardstock, but for me, this is better than other placemats I have purchased, for example vinyl ones that fold up and don't lay perfectly flat. Those tend to stain as well, and this is completely stain-repellent. Washing it is quite easy. I just run it under hot water and scrub with a sponge if necessary. Putting this in the dishwasher is completely unnecessary. It only takes 20 seconds to clean it well if you're not letting food crust on it for weeks at a time.

My daughter loves the pictures of the animals and pointing out letters. One technicality that bugs my husband and me? The "monkey" is actually a "gorilla" and even my 2.5 year-old calls it a "gorilla" because she's obviously wiser than the person who selected the picture for the "M". Kind of deceptive for sharp kids and misleading to teach kids who are just learning.

Rather than whining about dinner taking too long (seriously, I am not making gourmet meals here, but food takes time to get ready!!!), my kids are looking at their placemats entertained AND learning something new!

This placemat is really sturdy, easy to clean and nice pictures that are appealing to kids. I bought a bunch of these placemats and each meal my kids get to pick out which one they want. I also like that these are super easy to keep clean and the shifting of plates, bowls, silverware, cups is not scratching my table! Why didn't I buy these sooner!?!?!

My kids love the new placemats I ordered. This numbers/animals placemat is so cute--my kids are all animal lovers. They love counting the animals. Placemats make cleaning up after meals/snacks -and- art projects an absolute breeze!! I ordered all educational placemats and they have been a wonderful tool for "quick" learning time before we eat or before we do a project. I have 3 kids (7, 3, 17 mos) and the kids like picking out their placemat and helping me set the table. They even help clean them (easily washable with a wet paper towel) before we put them away.
