I purchased this for the candy buffet at my father-in-law's 80th birthday because it was a nostalgic candy for him. They were as described in the description, but for my children, spouse, and I we found them to be very hard and have a rather waxy flavor. Not for us!

Didn't Squirrel Nut Zippers used to be made with molasses? I remember them being a lot darker in color when I was a kid. Apparently they have changed the recipe and they are now made with corn syrup. Not quite as good, but still tasty.

2 strars are NOT the seller's fault. They provided quick shipping and a fresh product. No problems there. Sadly, as other reviewers noted, this is an anemic version of the peanut packed nut zippers I recall. It's a nice, soft caramel, but you won't find more than crumb or two of peanut in each piece, and little peanut flavor.
