We needed to replace a Kohler toilet seat with brushed nickel hinges. We stood in front of the display at Home Depot and saw ONE option that was $20 more expensive. Opened the Amazon iPhone app while there, saw this ordered while still in the store and saved the money.

This seat installed quickly, seems to be of high quality and one would never tell it wasn't the same brand as the toilet. PERFECT!

I have purchased two of these to replace the seats in the condo I rent. These are quality seats that look elegant when installed; however, they are not the seats pictured. Since I was replacing seats in a unit that was not mine, I wanted an identical match. I search the internet to find "Beveled Edged" and brushed nickel hinges. The seat is wood with a high quality paint. The hinges are brushed nickel which does match my bathroom decode. BUT … the lid edges are NOT beveled. The seat top is smooth and rounded. That's why I bought two …. so the mismatch would not be apparent. Get the picture right. Lastly, when installed they sit just a touch crooked. You expect crooked from $12 plastic seats, not from $30 plus wooded seats by Bemis.

I bought one of these from a local store, as the clean looking design is complimented nicely by the brushed nickel, which matched the other nickel hardware in my bathroom. Too bad the materials are cheap. The bolts holding the seat to the toilet do not stay tight, you have to constantly reach underneath to tighten them. If not done regularly the small screws holding the mdf seat to the hinges start stripping the mdf seat (it is a very cheap material and shouldn't have screws trying to stay tight drilled into it). Even with me regularly tightening the bolts the mdf eventually gave way, and the seat came apart from the hinges, requiring me to replace the whole thing. This was not just bad luck, as I had also bought one with the rubbed bronze hinges for a different bathroom and had the same problems. Also, don't use any heavy duty bathroom cleaners on it or the finish gets a stained look and will look dirty permanently.

We received the shipment promptly but upon trying to install it, discovered that one side's hardware had not been machined properly and was useless. We returned the defective unit for a credit and purchased a Bemis seat from a local store. It was disappointing to see that the paint finish was blemished in multiple places. I know, its just a toilet seat, but hey if they can't make toilet seats right these days, we're in big trouble.

It arrived on time - well packaged. Good quality except the hinge is machined a little loose. Installation was extremely easy. It looks good and for the price is worth it for a classy wood seat.
