I was having trouble starting my tmaxx 2.5 so I bought this just in case. I removed the original and cleaned it out with WD40 and reinstalled it and it has started perfectly since. I actually have more fuel ran through it since cleaning the bearing than I did when it first starting acting up. Before buying I recommend removing the one you have and cleaning it so you don't have a $15-$20 part you will probably never need sitting in your tool box like I do.

Sometimes these can be taking out..... cleaned. .....dried....then oiled and they will work. The bearing must be always clean and lube for them to work right.
I've purchased a few used nitros because owners didn't know what was going on. I took the bearing out and done the above and the nitro truck runs great!!!
So....try the above before spending money. ;)
Oh....and be sure to keep water out....water + metal = rust.......which then doesn't allow bearing to work right. Another way to fix.....soak in wd-40 overnight. ....then do above process. I've had some nitros I bought that bearing was rusted up. Did above....never had an issue before I resold. :)

It does what it supposed to do until it breaks....both Traxxas and HPI have an issue with these as I have to keep a few of them as spares. They're not cheap to get either!!
