If you like the looks of the cookies in the picture (and I do) you'll love these cutters. Three things will make them easy to work with:

1. If you're having the same problem that the first reviewer did, lightly dip the cutters in flour before each cut. (Particularly with the little pieces.)

2. Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling and cutting, or it will spread as the cookies bake and you'll have to cut away at the notches to make the cookies fit together.

3. If you want very thin cookies (maybe not a good idea for stability) you may need to roll the dough on the cookie sheet.

These are solid cookie cutters made of plastic; that means that you cannot use your fingers to remove the cut dough. We bake a great deal but these were extremely difficult to use and a great disappointment.

These sounded nice. The problem with these cutters is that they do not release the dough very well. This causes the cookie dough to break or warp. I followed all directions and I am a season baked of 40 years. I loved the idea of 3D cookies but these fall far short of useable. I have seen other cutter that use a plunger and if Nordic were to do this then I think they would have a winner.

I used the dough recipe on the box, and half of the cookies swelled so much that the slots were too small for the cookies to go together.

The dough kept getting stuck in the cookie cutters - even when i dipped them in flour. Since they are solid on one side you can't push the dough out so it's a real pain. The cookies expanded in the oven, the parts still fit together but looked nothing like the image on the package. Transferring the cookies from the table to the pan was also a precarious thing since picking them up and moving them would cause them to stretch/ deform or even break. I will probably never use them again.

My daughter loves to bake, and my 4 year old granddaughter loves to help, cookies are the best. What could be better than an entire zoo of cookie cutters?

These are bright yellow, animal-themed plastic cookie cutters. There are six different 3-D designs to choose from:
Lion
Rhinoceros
Elephant
Giraffe
Seal
Gorilla

These 12 cutters make six stand-up shapes. The plastic is food safe, and the cutters measure 4"H to 5"H.

No problems with the cookie dough sticking, We used a butter based cookie dough that we use for Christmas cookies.

These are not as easy as I thought they would be. The dough does stick to the cutter, I used plenty of flour and they still stuck, we used some cooking spray and that did work better with the dough that was very cold, but the cookies browned a bit too much. Some of the slots need to be cut out and not all of the cookies looked like the animal that they were supposed to be. I think that I need to practice with these a bit more. Next time I am going to use my 10 inch pasta roller for the dough to make sure that it is a consistent thickness and then chill the rolled dough again before cutting. I am determined to make this work. Oh, I did not use the included recipe, but used a recipe for cut out cookies that I have used for years.

These are awesome. Kids and adults are amazed at how different these are. They take some time, but it's worth it in the end. First, make a fairly thick cookie so they don't break when you handle them. Second, use a royal icing "glue" to fasten the legs to the bodies. Ice the cookies and legs before you attach them together. Then you can touch up once they are assembled if you need to add any finishing touches. (I do all the icing before I assemble them.) Take plenty of time to let everything dry between stages. Plan ahead to do it over a few days. Be generous with the icing "glue". I put a lot of the icing "glue" on the backs also so they are really fastened and don't fall off. I have made these twice for my grandson's birthday and he has asked for them again this year. I made a cake that looked like a campground, then put the animals on the top. Every time I make them for the kids, they have no interest in the cake and only want these cookies.
