I just bought this as a knockaround mic for our auditorium. I also have some higher-end Sennheiser systems that offer better sound and reception, but for simplicity this microphone is where it's at: turn it on by holding the power button, mute it by tapping the power button, and turn it off by holding the power button. It's easy to leave set up for a meeting and be confident that the presenter will be able to figure it out on his/her own, and cheap enough that it won't be the end of the world if it gets damaged or broken. Of course, it's also perfectly acceptable for singing; the frequency response is of typical, good SM58 quality, and in spite of the antennae being moved inside the unit for this model the wireless reception is still very reliable. While I much prefer being able to select my own specific frequency like I can on higher-end units, the ten different presets that this one has should be plenty for most people. It should be noted that even though there are 10 channels available within each frequency range you can buy this unit in, you can really only operate five of them within the same range without worrying about them interfering with each other (there is documentation with the mic that tells you which channels to use). If you buy more than five, get them in a few different ranges.

Overall, this is a great wireless package for the price--in fact, probably the best you can get for the price--both for its performance and ease-of-use. It's a fantastic upgrade over low-end systems that has all the features most people would want. If you are a band, mobile DJ, or other professional looking for quality that won't break the bank, this is the mic for you.

I purchased this mic for my church to up grade the music directors mic on the podium. It sounds great. The clarity is amazing. Especially with a touch of reverb. The only thing about these types of mics is that they are not omni-directional and only pick up what is directly in front of them. They are designed not to pick up background noise or feedback from other instruments. This mic does that very well. Because of this design, you must have the mic in your hand and pointed at your mouth when you sing. If you leave it on the podium it won't pick up your voice very well. I was replacing a NADY UHF mic. Those are not bad for the money, but this Shure is so much better. I wish we had made the investment earlier. You really can't go wrong if you are searching for a lead vocal mic.

We currently just started using this mic in our church as apart of failing sound system. It delivers a very clear sound and we have not had any problems with it so far. For the price, it is definitely a bang for the buck. I wouldn't recommend it for those have rough uses with mice because it doesn't seem to be a very sturdy/long lasting body, but if it is well taken care of, it will stand the test of time.

if you own any wireless gear operating in the 700-mHz range it may well become useless come Feb. That entire spectrum has already been auctioned off for other uses. Every mfg will be different and none that we know of has been selling gear in this range since that spectrum was sold. But check with your vendors and find out if they are going to have some kind of program in place to absorb at least some of the blow of replacing fairly new wireless gear. And no matter how good a deal it is on eBay, don't buy anything in this spectrum. Period.

This mic works well for what it costs. I find that it has a very high output when compared to the signal from other, wired mics, I use. Overall, it's great for passing around to sing, to announcements etc, but I'm not sure that I would choose it as a prime mic for our band. The range it puts out is very heavy on the bottom end leaving the top missing. You can compensate a bit with a decent EQ, but it's still not perfect. If I had a few hundred more bucks, I'd have bought something a step or two up, but I didn't. If you don't have a few hundred more bucks, this is a great way to go!

We already own a shure pg58 system but we needed another one so we bought this one, best price overall.

Build quality is really good cant complaint at all, shure has a very good reputation as far as build quality.

Sound

It sounds pretty good for what it is, its mainly used for live performances and it does great at it.

One thing i dont like about it is that, it doesnt come with a case or something to carry it around.

I bought this system as a replacement for a much older Schure unit. This one is much more advanced than I was aware of until recently when I needed to purchase a lavalier system for my use (I am the priest). This unit gets less use, but is very easy to set up and use. It took, literally, 5 minutes to connect this to the sound board and start using it.

This is what I call a high quality product. I had never used a shure mic before and there is an important difference in performance and sound quality versus other (maybe cheaper) brands. I am so happy with this mic, it is pretty easy to operate and install. I strongly recommmend it.
