I wanted to make a custom stainless steel exhaust manifold for my Link-Belt 2800 excavator diesel engine, as the original had badly rusted. This extremely thick wall SS pipe enabled me to easily weld up a replacement while improving exhaust flow (and theoretical power increase) since I went one step larger in diameter than stock. I had to put a slight bend in the pipe like the original one and it had no problem bending with a hydraulic press to the exact angle I required. Now I have a stainless steel exhaust system that will outlive me.
