"You get what you pay for" pretty much sums up my review. The cord storage device works as advertised and I am satisfied with it, considering what I paid for it. If you are going to be storing 100-ft. of electrical extension cord, this adds up to a significant weight that the device has to 'carry' and you have to hold while rolling the cord around the device (reel). There is a handle for one to hold, but when nearing the end of the 100-ft cord, you will notice the device flexes and it is difficult to hold with one hand while reeling (ergonomic factor). For improvement, I think the manufacturer should strenghten the device in places that would minimize flex and improve comfort during use. There are not too many products available on line that serve this purpose and have this design/function. Perhaps competition could drive improvement of this type of product.

This cord holder is made of heavy duty THICK plastic. It is not flimsy in any way and from the feel of it, it will not warp or bend from using. Price was great here on Amazon. I also purchased Bayco K-100 150-Foot Cord Reel for my other extension cords. I bought this one for when I need to use my 14/3 extension cord and not have to worry about winding it back on the wheel every time, but you wont go wrong with either product. I managed to fit a 100' 14/3 cord on there. I have a 12/3 but it didn't fit and the cord was falling off and was a mess.

This will not hold 150 feet of extension cord. It barely holds 100 feet. If you use 12, 14 or 16 gauge extension cords 100 ft. is about all this thing can handle. Even at that you have to be creative on how you wind it so it doesn't slip off the holder and trip over it while walking with it.

This is one of those products that looks nice until you actually use it.

Depending on the gauge of the cord and the length it can get heavy towards the end. I read a review (not sure if it was here or elsewhere) where you can put two ends of a cord together and where they come together wrap that so you end up splitting the distance when you use the reel (i.e., the reel never leaves the cord) - something I may try down the road.

For long term storage it's not bad, but again can be unwieldy with longer or heavier cords.

I ended up purchasing a different system for my other cords:

and the two products are not even in the same ball park price-wise but I caught the other one on sale for $75.99.

Does the trick. I use this winder to hold ethernet cable that I carry with me. It's great, especially when you figure the cut-outs and their uses. I keep about 10 feet in the top part of the winder and then the remainder (140 or so more feet of cable) in the bottom part. You may wonder why I carry so much ethernet in the day of WiFi, but I use this with baluns to run sound sources for relatively long distances. This is cheap, light, it has two winding areas, cutouts to run cords through and it stands up during use. I love it!

I purchased this cord holder to finally bring the unruly heavy gauge 100' extension cord I have in my laundry room under control. For the money this thing works great and is very sturdy.

The plastic itself on this unit is very thick and strong. I never had any warping, bending, creaking, or other indicators of weak structure when I was wrapping my cord on this product. I believe another reviewer mentioned that your hand will get tired while trying to wrap a large amount of high gauge extension cord on this device, but I think that's to be expected.. if you're holding and manipulating 20+lbs of awkward cord for 10 minutes, your hands are sure to get tired. Since there are few instances where I need to unwrap all the cord, I likely won't have to go through this again for a while. If you are the type of person that is frequently wrapping and re-wrapping all 150' of your extension cords, you may want to consider a more expensive and sophisticated unit. For people that really just have 150' of cord for those once in a while occasions where you need to plug in something far away from an outlet, I don't foresee this being a big problem (indeed, I would place myself in that group).

I got this unit specifically because it is rated to hold 150' of cord. I was concerned with some of the other products rated for only 100' of cord; frequently reviewers of these holders said that 100' of cord really doesn't fit well on those products. My 100' of cord fits very comfortable on this holder, and I admittedly didn't do the best job wrapping it either.

All in all, for the few bucks I paid for this simple device, I'm very pleased with it.
