I have twelve, yes twelve, cats. I know, we're certifiable.
Anyway, with the recent addition of five kittens and their formerly homeless mom, all the older cats have their noses out of joint. We've got territorial marking,
spiteful peeing, you name it. I bought a gallon of the Nature's Miracle Orange Oxy because the original NM always worked pretty well and I hoped the "orange" part would help discourage future visits by disgruntled cats.
The Orange Oxy doesn't seem to kill the odor nearly as well as the original NM, and it leaves the surfaces with sort of a sticky/slippery residue that's really unpleasant. (I've tried it on both carpet and laminate floors.) After trying the Orange Oxy a couple of times I bought a gallon of NM original and went back to using that.

I've used this for several years and it works great. I also love the slight orange smell that it leaves behind. I use it on any smell that I don't like. such as running shoes, ect. Usually the offensive smell is gone, and the orange smell lingers faintly, then that also leaves. When ever I clean up cat urine I first sop up all urine with a paper towel, then douse the area with lots of water, sop that up and then spray this stuff on as it's expensive. after it dries I have at times, gone back and resprayed the area. At least to our human noses I can no longer smell the pee. My cat however thinks the orange smell is offensive, but his own pee is ok. Another note is that whenever my cat starts peeing out of the litter box, he came down with life threatening illnesses, like crystals in his pee, bladder stones, pancreatitis, Irrital bowel disease. So before you think it's all behavoral, your cat could be telling you that he's really feeling crappy. Please check your cat our with a vet.

Wood
this natures miracle doesn't work on wood but I found a solution of 2c. Hydrogen peroxide, 1Tbs. baking soda, 1 teaspoon liquid soap (castille soap)worked on wood. Don't leave the hydrogen peroxide solution out in a spray bottle. I did and it somehow became pressurized and leaked out of the spray bottle overnight. When we found the table it was sitting on the next morning, this solution had stripped off not only the varnish but also the stain. When I use it on wood I also wipe it up after 10-20 minutes or so.

This stuff really works for me and my home. The house always smells fresh and we always have at least a gallon lying around. I have two cats and the eldest whom is 13 years old, has been having a problem going #1 in her litter box. This has been a ongoing problem for at least 4 years. I tried steam cleaning, rug oder remover and Fabreeze; nothing seemed to work. In the last year I heard about the Nature's Miracle product through an online source so I immediately ran to the pet store and purchased a bottle of the Original Formula for Cats.

Upon the first application, I thought the smell was great and I was so shocked how the solution pulled up the urine stains only 5 minutes after applying. I also used the solution sparingly at first because I thought that it was kind of pricey. Now, I think the product is worth every cent, and I use it more liberally so that it really soaks into the carpet and padding underneath. I will sometimes apply a second dose and let it set for 15 minutes or more. Then I use paper towels to mop it up. I used to use rags but I went through too many and they get wet quickly. I hated having to wash and wait for the rags to dry while I was in the process of cleaning the carpet. I know that paper towels can get pricey too but I'm okay with it since I'd do just about anything to get the urine and smell up before I have company. After placing sheets of paper towel on carpet, I then walk on the sheets to dry the carpet areas and to get the liquid to soak into the paper towels. Whenever I use a second application of Nature's Miracle, I usually have to lay two layers down to soak up all the liquids and I leave it that way for about a half or whole day. I became a fan of Nature's Miracle stain and odor remover about 12 years ago; when it completely removed the stain and odor from an entire bottle of red wine that was spilled on my white carpet. I now have two male kitties, one of whom has had urinary tract issues, resulting in many "accidents" all over the house. The regular Nature's Miracle was working just fine, but when I saw this "just for cats" version, I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm so glad I did! This has saved me from having to rip out my entire carpet and I would recommend it for anyone who has a kitty who misses the litter box from time-to-time.

This is an incredible product. With 7 cats, I am constantly cleaning up hairballs and with a beige carpet those stains can be nightmarish. But this product takes out the worst stains, and I am extremely grateful. I spray it on, start rubbing it off and then put a damp paper towel over the stain and put the bottle on top. The next day everything is gone, what a blessing this product is. Just love it.
