I Googled leather conditioners and cleaners then checked out reviews pf several products before using Bickmore products on the leather described below.

I had old bottles of Bick1 and Bick4 that I used to use on boat shoes.

While rummaging around in my basement I found an old heavy duty leather briefcase.
The kind we used to see in old movies handcuffed to a Fed's wrist. It's made from very thick
leather with a thick brown finish and heavy duty brass fittings. It was in fair shape
except for being very dry and the leather straps and corners of the case had some rough scuff marks and places where the finish had worn off. I was careful not to bend it too much because I was afraid it was
going to crack. The leather was very dry and brittle

I first gently wiped off the heavy dirt andbasement crust with a slightly damp cloth (I know wiping leather with a damp cloth is a no no because it pulls natural oils from the leather. In case, most of the oils had already
left the leather) Then cleaned the leather as directed on the Bick1 bottle. I had to work quickly because the Bick1 was sucked into the leather. Later that day I applied Bick4 as instructed. Again it was immediately

absorbed by the leather. I had to apply four applications of Bick4 before it stopped being immediately absorbed by the leather. The next day I buffed it with an old cotton tshirt.
Bick restored the leather. It looks great even the beatup corners. The leather straps where they loop through the brass fittings still have bare leather where the finished wore off from use but overall the
case looks great, even the brass fittings maintained their nice patina.

I received Bick leather care products with a pair of python boots I ordered from Tim's Boots. There's cleaner, leather conditioner, and horrible-smelling but very effective polish, and water repellent. These products have kept those boots, my eel boots, and leather boots clean and well-protected. The products are easy to use. They are a bit pricey, though.

I bought this with the leather conditioner. One or the other DID make my leather products darker. I'm not too upset nu this but decided to write a review to mention this. The cleaner itself was ok-- I bought it to clean a purse of mine and ended up using it on my cowgirl boots, too-- doesn't really seem to clean up liquid marks/dirt and if you arent careful it will leave liquid stains of its very own- definately reccomend using a little at a time!

I bought this for use on my purses. However the labeling on the bottle indicates it is too harsh for that, it is probably made for equestrian purposes. I kept it for use on my shoes this winter.

I bought this to clean a tan colored aniline leather couch. It worked, but I had to do it over again and again...it took me hours..and the couch wasn't overly soiled. I will continue to use Bickmore leather cleaner because I'm afraid to use another product and at least this one doesn't ruin the leather.

Really really good cleaner, I Haven't found a better one yet. Follow directions and all will be good, not good for oil stains, nothing is good for oil stains for that matter. Will buy a lot more for professional use.

I don't know if works well. After I clean my boots the leather seems dry and without luster I needed to use bick 4 after this. I left my boots over night the second time I cleaned them and use the bick 4 the day after. The boots felt a little stiffer on my feet, maybe dryer than before (I am talking about the leather). The first time I used it followed with bick 4 Immediately after, it seemed the leather didn't look so healthy. A good polishing after bick1 and bick 4 will restore or partially restore the shine of the leather. Use a small wet round polishing brass and then apply bick1 on it, this way you create a foam on the leather.
