Yes, this is for horses but in our home, the 2 legged variety of animal utilizes MSM, along with our dogs. Many do not realize that MSM is a fantastic Chelator and will help to rid the body of heavy metals along with helping to control the pain and inflammation of arthritis. Just to be clear, I am not a doctor, I am just someone who has managed to beat Breast Cancer completely naturally and is totally holistic. MSM is a great supplement for anyone's diet, however, everyone should do their own research and consult their Naturopath before starting any supplement routine. Of all MSM Supplements, I have found the AniMed Pure MSM to be the most pure and effective on the market. It is also so much cheaper than buying it in tiny capsules. This is also a great supplement to add to your dogs water. It helps to relieve joint issues and the dogs don't mind the taste. If you are unsure if MSM will help you, I encourage you to research its benefits, you may be surprised. Just a bit of advice....start slowly and work your way up and give it a few weeks before judging. As with all supplements, it takes a few weeks before you see improvement.

One of my horses is a retired header/healer who has chronic joint pain, back pain, a thin sole and laminitis. He's between 25 and 30 years old. I bought this because when he went lame again, my vet was out of town and I ran out of banamine. On the 2nd day, he stopped limping. On the 3rd day of use, he was trotting around in the morning like a colt. On the 5th day, he bucked so high I thought he was gonna do a flip! This horse has never bucked, ever. Considering the dosage is 1 tablespoon a day, a 5 lb bucket will last quite awhile. Really, just pennies a day to have a horse find his youth again is amazing.

I decided to try it on my 22 year old world champion. His body condition has been going down this past year. Also, he has slowed down a lot. After the 1st day, yes, the 1st day, he was trotting around with great animation; knees to the sky. On the 3rd day he was alert and playful.

Gave it to my 18 year old mare who has no health issues, but is slowing down. By the 5th day she started trotting around and socializing like she did when she was a filly.

Gave it to my 3 year old colt whose hoof was stepped on when he was a few months old. It caused permanent damage, having the inside of the pastern 3 mm smaller than the outside. This causes him great pain in the winters. He lays down a lot and bites at his leg relentlessly unless I give him pain relievers. Well, the cold has come in and that boy is up and about like it is a normal summer day.

I've read it helps with allergies, so I'm going to try it on one of my dogs who suffers from allergies in the spring. I'll update the results when the time comes.

From the information I've gathered, this is the same quality as MSM sold for human consumption. After I received my purchase, upon examining the information on the label, there is no binders or fillers, you get 100 percent pure MSM.
I believe there are two ways MSM is manufactured, this is the less expensive MSM, but, buying this brand you can save a lot more money than buying the MSM that uses a more expensive way to make it's prduct.
Does the human body really know the difference in MSM for humans and MSM for animals? I think not!

This product worked great for my family. I also contacted AniMed and confirmed that the MSM is pure and from DMSO and not made from any petroleum products. The lid, as others mentioned, does suck eggs and I transferred to an amber glass jar and keep it in the pantry. My skin, nails, hair and joints have all benefitted from this wonderful supplement. Even my dogs coats and level of activity have shown improvement. Highly recommend. *Caveat* It tastes nasty. Tip: Mix it in some juice and chug it down. Follow with more plain juice.

I've been advised that this very same item is used by humans. And I have. My doctor advised surgery for a hole in my maniscus. I settled for a Cortizone shot and started taking MSM daily. Another reviewer said this is the same as what's made for humans. Well, not quite. it's not a powder like I've bought before but more like fine flaky snow and it is a lot cheaper. Since it's 100% MSM I wasn't concerned. But just a note that it has a bitter taste so if you're a human considering taking this you might want to put it in juice or some other flavored liquid (though not hot). Since I'm taking it with some awful tasting enzymes and DE - those hide the taste pretty well.

This is the second time I've bought this MSM except this time I got a bigger bucket. This is the same stuff you get in those expensive capsules except it's totally pure without the magnesium stearate and other additives. I use it for myself with great results, just be careful about the amount you take. Start out with a small amount and add until you feel the maximum benefits. My cat likes it too!
