This is an excellent collection of fifty songs. I play it straight out of a laptop with a tiny speaker and it sounds just as it would coming out of a 1940's radio. Perfect! Listening to it is very nostalgic as it reminds me of my folks who were huge fans of Glenn Miller when they were in high school and during World War II. And in my years growing up, they played the music at home regularly. It's also a kind of tribute to The Greatest Generation of which my parents were a part. Glad I got it and recommend it to anyone who likes The Big Band sound. Glenn Miller was the best.

I actually bought this for my 90 year young mother, who still is active and vivid, but I wanted to give her a taste of her youth, and this two cd set does that. The clarity is there as if newly recorded, the set arrived in excellent condition, and I must say, mom has enjoyed it tremendously. I see the sparkle in her eyes, which are suddenly young again, as she relives the most memorable moments of her life.

The above says it all, when I played the music for them(I work in a riterment home) as I passed by a table I could hear a couple of the seniors humming and singing to the music, it makes me happy that I was able to bring a little joy in thier lives by bring them music that they grew up with

I purchased this CD because I came to love "Big Bands"! I listened along with my parents and watched them dance to all the great songs. Even if you are young, you will enjoy this CD if you love the rich sound of a band. The songs are from a time when people made and honored their committments. I believe if you listen once you will want to hear more.

Great to hear the old band in the original recordings in studios, dance halls and on the radio. It is very different than hearing re-recordings or remastered recordings of MIller's music. Love it!
