I purchased one of these through Amazon. I used this item a few times a day,and it appeared very good for a week or two. As I continued to use it, the metal edging around the stainless mesh began to turn black. The mesh is stainless, but the metal edging is not. I even checked it with a magnet. Eventually, the black discoloration began to darken the tea water as well. I am using this infuser for green tea, so the discoloration is not coming from the tea. Don't buy this item, I would recommend the "Progressive Stainless Steel Mesh Tea Ball" instead, also available at Amazon as I have been using it for a month with no discoloration.

Style Name: Heart Shaped Mesh Tea Infuser Verified Purchase
I purchased this to hold dried Hibiscus Flower tea which I have purchased bulk here on Amazon. Prior to this I had been buying teabags and would have to use two bags for my two cup coffee mug. The bulk purchase is definitely cheaper than purchasing tea bags but I did not want to deal with floating flowers in my mug.

My mother use to drink loose leaf tea without an infuser and would just sip and spit the leaves back into the cup. I have tried that method but I find it slightly annoying, and not something I want to do while I drink tea at work. I also have a bad habit of using too many tea leaves and my tea would be way too strong.

This little infuser holds enough hibiscus flowers for my two cup mug, was easy to load up and easy to clean out. I'm here today to buy a second one to use at home.

Style Name: Infuser Spoon Verified Purchase
I had a similar model that had the mesh screen (HIC Brands that Cook Snap Mesh Tea Ball Infuser) instead of the perforated spoon like this model. But the mesh one eventually had one side snap off while shaking out the leaves. This model scoops the tea a little more easily because it does not have the wide edges like the mesh one that ALWAYS manage to have tea leaves sandwiched between them so it does not close tightly and bits leak out. But the tiny weld at the attachment point on this infuser is just as flimsy as on the mesh kind if not more so. I will try to be careful with it to see if I can get some longevity out of it, but when this one breaks I will probably buy another one or make my own. One other thing to note is that it would be handy if both of these tea infusers I am writing about had about 50 percent larger capacity as I like to make big mugs of tea and the small amount you can put in this infuser results in weaker tea than I like when trying to stretch it to 14 ounces or more in my jumbo sized mugs.

I am seriously thinking about getting some stainless steel screen and making my own that will last a lot longer than these devices.

Style Name: Heart Shaped Mesh Tea Infuser Verified Purchase
All similar tea infusers use a pin to place and simple hinged latch to close. This one has a sturdy hinge at the left 'atrium' and the latch closes opposite. It's larger than the round ball I recently bought and with the Davidson teas I've been buying in bulk - make a lovely 6 quart saucepan of tea (which we chill for consumption each day). I bought 3 of them, and they all function well.

Style Name: Snap Spoon Verified Purchase
Don't buy this if you need a loose tea infuser. A previous reviewer described it as developing "an overbite" which is a good enough description, so the tea-leaves would just fall out very easily. Mine did very soon after its arrival and I couldn't fix it, but then because I bought this snap spoon as a teabag lifter rather than tea leaf infuser, it works well for that purpose. I was tired of the teabags dyeing my fingernails whenever I lifted them out of my cup of tea, and this gadget eliminates that. And it was very inexpensive too. Although "List Price $58.00". Seriously?! The $3.25 is a lot more reasonable :-)

After slicing my finger trying to open an infuser ball, I had to find something better. This thing is fantastic!! I squeeze to open, scoop up the tea and release to close. Brew, then squeeze it, tap on the edge of the trash can, a quick wash and done! So easy!!

I just wanted a basic tea infuser –I’m not a huge tea gal, but wanted something to work with loose tea. I did go with one of the cheaper choices and did not get what was pictured. The packaging had Chinese writing and the quality was horrible (ball didn’t close completely—just felt cheap). I called the company (Harolds) from the label in the picture on Amazon and they said what I had received wasn’t theirs. Not sure why I didn’t get what was pictured. BUT, the nice company sent me out a new infuser and it is great. It closes well and got the job done. I was able to put in the loose tea and pop into my tea cup to brew a cuppa with no issue. Be careful ordering this one….I’d pay more next time and get it from Amazon. Annoying.

Poor solder job where the mesh ball meets the arm. When I went to use it, I opened the ball and one half of it snapped off. Unit arrived without packaging in an envelope that was hand addressed from Hong Kong. Since there was also no packing slip , I could not call to request another one.
