This tool has been great for setting blade height on my table saw and router table. I also use it frequently for making repeatable measurements in from the edge of a workpiece. This is one tool where the potential uses really are limited by your imagination.

In spite of its rather plain plastic appearance, this tool provides all of the accuracy that you would expect from an Incra product. It has also proved very durable, surviving several falls from table height, and saw dust and pencil marks are easy to clean off of it.

The Incra Gauge is indispensable for setting table saw blade height and router bit height. It is one of those tools that the more you use it, the more uses you find for it. Simple and rugged, I find that it perfectly performs the job for which it was designed. If I lost this gauge, I would immediately buy another - it is that handy.

If you need repeatable >precise< measurements in your workshop this tool is for you. I use it often for setting the blade height and rip width on my table saw, but it's useful anytime you need to set an exact measure. A very nice little bit of kit.

I have had one of these since they first came out 20 some odd years ago and I was afraid that I would be stuck if I ever lost this. It is simply that I KNOW this is going to be completely dead accurate and repeatable every single time I use it. Now I finally have TWO. I am ecstatic. It is simply my number one go to measuring device (after tape measure of course). I have a Starrett 12 inch combo square and this hunk of plastic Incra gauge. I grab the Incra gauge every time. It just is so easy to get a dead accurate line on a piece of wood exactly the length I want it to be. It is also wider than the combo square's end so a longer line. It slides down the length of a board for a band saw cut. It sets my saw blade height, my router blade height, my depth of cut. I get the exact same height or line every time I use it.

I have NO idea why the one star reviews. I got used to this before I had my beautiful combo square (what you are used to I guess). yes, it is kinda a pain to adjust and good lighting is needed to read the numbers. It sometimes is a little wobbly when trying to set saw blade height. The new nut is actually better than the one from 20 years ago tho.

Highly recommended.

This is really neat, it makes setting blade distance easy and accurate. My one petty gripe is that it is touch when moving the bars, they are so precise that you have to jiggle them to move. I guess it's lack of patience on my part. It is so far indestructable, it has fallen many times and is in fine shape.

My wife purchased it for me and I can't believe I was able to survive before I had it in my arsenal of tools. This is made of very high quality plastic with ridges on the faces so you can easily adjust the length "free handing" it, or of course you can push it against two pieces of wood or whatever material you are working with to get the exact distance between and transfer the measurement. You can also use it to get a consistent reveal when doing trim work, or get a consistent depth line transferred to material, or many many other uses. Get it, you will not be disappointed!!
