As others have noted, the mounting "hardware" is cheap plastic, and does not work. I am unable to screw or push in the mounting hardware. The Bugflector itself is of decent quality. I've installed these on other trucks w/o any problems, but the plastic fasteners are not well-suited to this task. I went to local hardware store an purchased other items that should work better. If I still cannot make it work, it may get returned for another brand w/o installation complaints.

Would have given 5 stars but the hardware is terrible. Basically they provide plastic moly bolts. Please tell me how plastic screw with plastic anchor is supposed to grab and secure the shield? Maybe in perfect test conditions...however in real life they absolutely suck. Hard to believe the company would deem this adequate. There is a solution though. Replace the plastic screws with 3/4 inch #8 self tapping stainless screws. Use with original anchors and it will work. 50 cents more and the company could have saved ALOT of hassle for the end user.

2013 Honda Ridgeline. Same day delivery. Only 3 star because instructions were slightly wrong and plastic hardware given was not good. They easily were ruined by using instructions. If you install do not use plastic bolt as instructed by running deflector in between hood gasket then trying to add bolt through gasket and deflector. Instead add bolt from deflector on inside of gasket, the gasket adds to much thickness and you ruin bolts trying. Other reason for 3 star is I'm not sure how solid this is going to hold on. Last reason for 3 star is they need to give extra bolts, u you only get the exact amount you need and I lost 2 down my engine compartment never to be seen again. Luckily O'reileys is a few miles away

First off install was pretty easy with included hardware. Just pop out four fastened slide it underneath then when you put each of the new fasteners make sure to align properly. (May not think it will line up but it will.) Once aligned before you put the screw all the way in, push the housing piece all the way in and hold tight. I had a small electric screw driver which I used to help him push and screw at the same time. You will hear a pop which means it's all the way in. Go back and untuck the rubber seal as much as you can. I'm sure a regular screw driver will work the same but that was the closest to me. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because after I installed I realized 2 of he 4 clear good protectors were not included and there was a small scratch on it. Did not feel like undoing the whole thing and returning because of that. Took me all but 25 minutes. Listen to my instructions and I bet you can do it in at least 15 minutes.

I installed the AVS Bug Deflector II on my 2013 Honda Ridgeline Sport. Out the box, the deflector was packaged well and appeared well made. I struggled with install even after following the instructions to the T. The fasteners that come with the kits are made of plastic and did not want to screw all the way. I would get to around 90% and then they would turn in the same spot. At the end, I had to use brute force to push the screw all the way into the fastener. Once in, the deflector looks good. I would like to see how long the deflector/fasteners last. Overall, I am happy with the way the deflector looks on my truck and fits.

If you have to go through the soft touch car washes there is not a bug shield on the market that is safe for these car washes. After about 2 months of not getting my truck all the way clean in the touch free car washes I took this bug shield off my truck. Great product, I just couldn't clean my truck all the way.

Perfect fit and looks great. Only issue as described in most posts, the plastic screws were junk. Could not get the plastic screws to go in and hold. Used metal screws that I had and worked great. Highly recommend the item, just plan on using your own screws. Product easily a 5 if it came with better screws for installation.

Very nice.

Though I agree with all the other reviews that the mounting hardware is pure awful.

I actually lost one (Dropped it down into the engine bay) while trying to install it, and never could find it. With the hood closed, I don't have any fear that it's going anywhere though.
