Overall Impression:
I use this on a variety of pistols (.45 STI, Kimber, Glock, and a .22 Browning), as well as my 12 guage and rifle. Holds up well with dirty range ammo, stays put when left in the gun safe for less-used guns like my shotgun. I have been using Lucas off and on for a while and it's a solid product.

Characteristics:
Lucas gun oil is red tinted and tacky- it almost feels like liquid nylon tape. If you place a drop on the guide rod or other flat surface, it will trickle down. Slower than a standard oil, but certainly not like a grease. A lot of 1911's like to run "wet" (with a lot of oil), especially a tight-fitting custom pistol. If left in the safe for an extended period, this oil will "pool" from excess application, but the oil does not dry out quickly and a lot of oil seems to stay in place.

Pros:
Reasonably priced for a high-performance gun lubricant, and it's a good American company based in the US (Indiana now adays).

Cons:
Can be tough to find if you're not an Amazon shopper! Applicator tip is thick enough to prevent precision placement in a few instances.

I'm giving it 5 stars because that's the most I'm allowed. I found this Lucas gun oil in a farm store a few months back. I've tried every gun lube on the market. All the hyped products that were billed as the greatest. When I saw the Lucas name, my initial thoughts were, I hope this is going to be another successful Lucas product. Because if this stuff sucks, it will definitely tarnish my opinion of the Lucas name. I put one drop on both rails of my Ruger SR22 and hit the range. Now, if you shoot .22 pistols, you know how nasty they can get, and how gummy they tend to get. I'm a clean freak (when it comes to my firearms). I dropped two drops on the rails and racked the slide a few times, and instantly noticed a difference in the smooth travel. Loaded up some mags and went to work. 300 rounds later, I was finished for the day. I tore the pistol down, and there was absolutely no spatter, no oily residual where I didn't put it. Simply put, this stuff is exactly as billed. No hype, just perfection.

I had 2 guns that were jamming while shooting targets, after stripping them quickly and using this to give there guts a good soaking, both starting working perfectly again. Plus, this oil keeps my firearms looking like new. Awesome product overal

I use this to lubricate my hand guns and rifles. It does a good job and stays put where you apply it. It is a thick red oil that has no odor. It is rated to not burn off as quickly from a hot gun or rifle components as other oil and it is rated as an all weather oil and water resistant.

The dropper on the bottle is a little large so I use a soft microfiber type of cloth to apply a thin film of oil on the items that just need a little lubrication to prevent corrosion and a drop of oil where it needs more lubrication.

I usually shoot a couple of hundred rounds when I am at the range and this oil holds up well to that kind of use. It stays in place longer and my guns just seem to slide smoother and they are easier to clean up. I just threw a new bottle into my gun case that I take to the range just in case I need to loosen the gun or rifle up based on how well it is shooting, This is a good product and I rated it at 5 stars.

I bought this on the recommendation of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. They use it on all their Ruger Mini 14's.
Seems to lube well and does not dry out. At the same time, it does not attract dirt.

Good product...highly recommend.

Saw this at a tool store and being Lucas I had to try it. All I can say is it works better then all the other lubes I have its very slick and way thicker than the hoppes and remoil. I recommend to any gun owner it works wonders on the ARs BCG and pistons. Made my shotgun easy to rack. ( press the action release and almosts opens completely) also very well to prevent rust and I even use it for the finish on the gun to keep it from looking super dry. Wish they made it in larger sizes

This and clenzoil and ballistol is all i use for lubricant. tetra or super lube grease for long term storage-- and save tons of money. otherwise, everyone has their own thing they like, but for what this does, definitely up there for being a favorite. wouldn't mind using this if it was all i had for oil, its that good. Good for my knives that need to be oiled as well.

Before I purchased Lucas gun oil I used milspec break free clp but the smell was terrible. This stuff is awesome. I use it on every weapon and it works great. Works well on lubricating my Dillon press too.
