I don't know why this product didn't work for other reviewers, perhaps it doesn't work for every dog, but it sure worked on my two poodles. I have a standard poodle with standard bad breath, and a toy poodle with killer bad breath. Little bad breath for the big dog, and big bad breath for the little dog. Go figure. Anyway, I was expecting to give it a month or two for it to really work well, but was I surprised! Three days later, my little dog, my Toy Poodle, Isabella Bella Little Bit Stone, the one with the killer bad breath, no longer had bad breath. The same is true for my standard poodle, Sophia Joy. How sweet it is! One other good thing about this product - it smells just fine to the human nose, and apparently is attractive to the canine pallet, because when I sprinkle it on their food, they gobble it up, and lick up every last micron. If you are a human with a dog with bad breath, buy this product! If you are a dog, sit on your human's chest and breath in their face until they do. Sometimes you just have to get ruff!

We were thinking about having our dogs teeth cleaned, when our vet recommended this powder. We have been using it for about 2 Months now, and people comment on our pups teeth. They are white and clean (and we never brush them). I will continue to purchase this product to hopefully avoid dental problems in the future. Dog LOVES it too!

I just had to write this review, I purchased the product back in 3/12, not sure why I never gave it to my dog. I have a Maltese who has major tarter build up and has for years. I have been avoiding the $600 Vet visit to get my dogs teeth cleaned. Well his breath is really an issue and has been, so 5 days ago I noticed the unused bottle and decided to give it a try. 1 tsp. on his dry food very day and we are on day 5. So a friend is over today and of course my dog gave her a "kiss", "wow she stated your dog has no bad breath like my dogs do".... so that comment prompted me to look at my dogs teeth and I could not believe what I saw...some teeth were without tarter, and the teeth with the heaviest build up I hooked my nail on top and a big chunk of tarter came off. Now please note that this tarter was thick and on like super glue, I had previously tried to remove the tarter manually and it just pissed my dog off. So yes this stuff does work. With the response I got after 5 days, I am excited to see cleaner teeth as the weeks go by. I will provide an update. My dog has no issue with the taste and he is white and it does not stain his fur. If I had started this years ago he probably would have not have had an issue tarter. I will buy a second bottle before I run out of this.

We took our dog Pumpkin to the vets for her check-up and when he looked at her teeth he could not believe it. She had no tarter on her teeth whatsoever!!!! He asked us what we used and told him Perio-Support he thought we brushed her teeth every day and I said not at all and no bad breath at all. We have told all our friends with pets to try this product. Wouldn't live without it!!!!!! GREAT

This is a great product that my cat's vet recommended for his bad breath. I add just a little bit to his wet food every day and the bad breath is gone. You have to use it constantly and even when it is gone because the smell will come back if you stop. I use much less than recommended amount and it is working well for us.

We adopted a 2 1/2 yr old Himalayan kitty that our vet showed us had red gums indicating periodontal disease. Seemed so odd for such a young kitty but we learned that Himalayans and Persians seem to be prone to it. Our vet recommended a teeth cleaning which necessitated that he go under anesthesia. We agreed, although I wasn't happy about what seemed to be an extreme solution. The hygienist recommended using this Vetri-Science Perio Support powder after the cleaning, but I didn't take her advice since we were sure that an improved diet along with another supplement would be enough to keep his gums healthy. I must confess that I also don't brush his teeth as most vets recommend. Well, a year later and the vet showed me how red his gums were again. I couldn't bring myself to force him to have another professional cleaning...he seemed to have such a hard time with the anesthesia and preventive antibiotics, (diarrhea.) She again recommended the Vetri-Science Perio-Support. It worked! It cleared up the irritation right away. I've been sprinkling a little on top of his wet food at each feeding. I started with just a small touch and increased gradually over a couple weeks to about 1/4 teaspoon twice a day. So glad to make the extra effort.

I have a 12 year old Maine Coon that has had serious periodontal disease since age 4, despite yearly dentals and monthly pulse therapy with Clindamycin. So I was excited to try this, but once I saw that it contains Yucca Schidigera Extract I won't be giving it to her. This Yucca Extract is also found in many higher-end cat and dog foods and it's used to keep the poo from smelling bad. There have been recent studies that Yucca can raise blood urea levels that can contribute to kidney disease, more likely to happen in cats than other species this is intended for. So I'm not taking any chances; if further studies come out that reverse these findings, I'll reconsider this supplement at that time.

NOTE: For those of you who purchase this to help with your dog's/cat's bad breath, please first schedule a vet visit to rule out other causes than "just" foul-smelling breath.
