I am an engineer and I keep a journal of all my work, phone calls, rough calculations, site visit notes, etc. The Da Vinci Journal is professional looking. It looks so much better than the old marble covered composition books. The hard bound cover holds up very well. I take a journal with me on field trips in all sorts of conditions. I also take the same journal to meetings with clients. When the pages are full, I label the spline and it goes into the bookshelf. Looks good and wears well. I recommend this journal.

I was excited to receive this notebook based on one comment - that the paper is "fountain pen friendly". I'm sorry to say it is not. The sheets are too thin to be able to write on both sides. My ink does bleed through and I've included a photo of the second page to show that. I gave this notebook 3 stars because it's attractive and I will use it; just not with one of my fountain pens. Maybe if the paper's thickness or rag content was included in the description it would be more helpful to make an informed choice. I am disappointed but that will pass.

This journal is beautiful and I love it. The outer material has a nice feel to it, great warm color and looks upscale. The inside is elegantly lined. This is going to be my go to journal from now on. My only complaint is that I wish it had more pages. 150 pages is nice but I would love one with double that amount too.

I've been using these books for work for 3 years. I was given my 1st one as a gift. I'm a VP, so I go to alot of meetings and document my notes in this book. Generally I don't tear out the pages, because it doesn't work well with this book. If you don't need to tear out pages, this is a great clean look at a great price.

This notebook has a pretty little cover and nice looking paper, but it certainly does not have 150 sheets. I think what they meant to say was 150 pages (75 sheets). I think the lesson learned here is that all notebooks/journals list their page content, not the number of sheets of paper.

Be sure you want only 150 pages, not 300 pages when purchasing this item. (I guess I could return the item, but who wants to deal with the hassle? I just gave it away instead and purchased a Boorum and Pease 500-page journal instead.)

This is a really nice notebook. The cover is of high quality with a nice subtle design. It looks like it will hold up much better than my moleskine does with a lot of use. My one issue is that the paper is too thin and a little bit too porous, so some pens may wind up with their ink bleeding through. It does, however, handle a regular bic pen really smoothly, which is very helpful.

I've never bought a 'business notebook' before, and I must say that this is perfect for light note taking and office use.

Pros:
- Great size in that it's not too big / not too small at 9.25 by 7.25
- Great Ruling so you fit much content on each page
- Strong Pages (Don't rip, don't let gel ink bleed through)
- Good Color in that its Matte and feels soft even though its hard. Excellent!
- Positive remarks from manager and co-workers (if your into that sort of thing) :-)

Cons:
- No 'Ribbon' or something else to mark the current page you are on. Not a deal breaker but it would be useful and better than a bookmark since bookmarks are more cumbersom if your taking notes while moving around.
- No space to put your pen / pencil. This did not affect my rating because this book uses space very efficiently, and a slot to hold a writing instrument would make it loose some of that.
- I can't find other books like it! (please see 'comparisons')

Comparisons:
Trying to find one like this but in a different color is harder than I thought! All are Amazon links.

.... This is the closest match to the clean structure of the Davinchi that I found through online comparison. It does not appear to have a 'rectangle' in the front of it like the other examples below. However, the pattern might not be for everyone.

.... The Problem with this notebook and others in the series is that little rectangle in the front of the book. The DaVinchi does not have this rectangle; If it's useful to you as a placeholder then that's cool.

This notebook is very nice, I particularly love how well-bound it feels. The cover is a pretty light orange with a soft leather-like texture and the pages are a classy light cream color. The problem I'm having is that the paper doesn't respond well to my fountain pen. I'm using a Lamy Safari with the stock blue ink cartridge and my writing shows through on the opposite side of the page. Maybe there is a better ink for this notebook, but I haven't yet received my refillable cartridge or Noodler's ink to test it out. If I remember, I'll come back and update the review to let you know!

(Tried out Noodler's Black Swan In English Roses, it shows through just like the blue cartridge.
